Spiral Dye – New Sneak Peak from Stampin’ Up! I think the saying I am looking for is ‘Better Late than Never’! Today I am sharing the project I made on my YouTube Live last Thursday using the Spiral Dye stamp from the New Annual Catalogue. The New catalogue goes LIVE tonight at 11pm UK Time!! I will be staying up to place the order for my Product Shares and InColor Club, so tomorrow may need a bit of a lie in!
The Spiral Dye brings back memories of the unheated Art Room (for which read ‘glorified hut’!) at my Junior School. This was the first place I came across Tie Dying, along with memories of stained hands being scrubbed to try to get them clean again. Fortunately, the Spiral Dye stamp is less likely to result in stained hands!
The card I made during my Live used the new InColor Markers and the Gilding Flakes. I was inspired by a card that Bruno Bertucci shared a few days ago. I think he had more control over the amount of Gilding Flakes used, but I don’t dislike the effect.
One of my regular customers was watching the Live and suggested that, rather than ‘huffing’ on the stamp to reactivate the ink, it might be interesting to see what would happen if I used a Stampin’ Spritzer. Never one to ignore a suggestion I had a go. I used Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper instead of White. Let’s just say, I LOVE the result.
I have put it together with a Fresh Freesia mat, on a Very Vanilla card. I added the ‘happy’, from Perennial Petals, in Polished Pink on Very Vanilla and fussy cut it before adding it to the front of my card. The finishing touch being a few of the stunning InColor Jewels (possibly my favourite embellishment from the new Catalogue, and this month’s Ordering Special!)
The final card I am sharing with you today, uses Merry Merlot and Night of Navy, as well as some, intentionally bad, Gold Heat Embossing. This time I turned my card twice; once a full 180° for the second colour and once at 90° for Versamark. I trimmed this down and then matted it on Night of Navy and Merry Merlot, before adding my sentiment in Night of Navy.
Three very different results using the same, slightly surprising, stamp. I hope I have given you some ideas to help you use this fantastic stamp. I can see so many other possibilities for this stamp.
I have an ordering special for qualifying orders placed between 1st and 31st May that use the following Host Code:
