Hand Penned Petals Two Ways. Earlier this week I had my first proper ‘play’ with the Hand -Penned Suite of products and all I can say is I LOVE THEM! There are so many options, and I used the opportunity of a YouTube Live on Tuesday to share a few of these.
My first card is pretty gender neutral, simply by using colours from the brown/green you can turn, what could be thought of as a very feminine suite, to something more gender neutral. For the floral image I selected one of the colours from the piece of Designer Series Paper I had chosen. The large floral is stamped in second generation Cinnamon Cider, the smaller one in Pool Party and the leaves in second generation Garden Green.
To finish the card I die cut some of the Designer Series Paper using one of the Scalloped Contours dies and raised this with Dimensionals. The die cut floral is added flat, to keep the postage costs down. The sentiment is simply stamped in Garden Green Ink and trimmed to size before adding across all the layers, this simple design option helps to bring everything together. As I didn’t have the new version of the 2020-2022 InColor gems (now ordered and on their way!), I used the Retired version in Cinnamon Cider.
My second version is definitely more feminine in feel, using Pale Papaya and Cinnamon Cider for the base layers (a match made in heaven for me). I used another of the Scalloped Contours for the Designer Series Paper layer.
The floral is coloured with a selection of Stampin’ Blends using some of the colours in the paper. Adding the Highland Heather and Fresh Freesia in the centre of the design lifts what could otherwise be seen as a monochrome project. To emphasise this further, I added the floral with Dimensionals so it was physically more prominent too. Adding a few Champagne Rhinestones finished the outside of this project off.
On the inside of both cards, I added a small floral to the bottom left of the liner, using colours I had already used on the outside. This helps to pull the inside and outside together. BUT which version of my card do you prefer? Do you like the more feminine version or the gender neutral one? I would love to hear from you.
