YouTube Live Replay Using Retiring Products with a few Carry Over/New Products. I had such a great time on my YouTube Live last Thursday making the second version of my card. I chose to use the Brilliant Wings dies with products that some of the products that are NOT going to be in the new Annual Catalogue.
The card I made in advance uses one of my favourite Neutrals, Grey (or Gray) Granite. This is a soft warm grey that is perfect for so many occasions. In the video I suggest that this card could be used as a Sympathy card. I used the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper, which may be a bit of a surprise as this is mostly thought of as a wedding or love suite. The butterfly is sitting on white card that has some soft inking on it. I used one of the Square Vellum Doilies as a mask. Adding a small amount of Stampin’ Seal to the middle and edges of the doily keeps them in place while you add Gray Granite Ink with a Blending Brush (due back in stock in Europe next week!!). I hope you agree the result is AMAZING!
The doily is just the right size to die cut with the largest of the straight edged Layering Square Dies (GET THEM BEFORE THEY SELL OUT!) This is then layered on Gray Granite Card die cut with the largest of the scalloped edged die. The Butterflies are die cut in Gray Granite for the detailed die cut, and vellum for the solid butterfly. I added some of the retiring Frosted and Clear Epoxy Droplets down the centre of the butterfly (GET THEM BEFORE THEY SELL OUT!). The ribbon is the Silver Edged Metallic Ribbon dyed with the Dark Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends. A small sentiment from the Snailed’ It! Stamp Set in the Mini Catalogue (GET IT BEFORE IT GOES IN JUNE!) punched using the Classic Label Punch (GET IT BEFORE IT SELLS OUT!)
The finishing touch was to stamp the same, Swallow Tail, butterfly on the inside using second generation Gray Granite ink. This small touch really helps to bring the inside and outside together. But what if you want something with more colour? Well that is what the Thursday Live was all about. Are you ready??
This card is EXACTLY the same, but instead of Gray Granite, I used Mango Melody as my main colour. I specifically chose Mango Melody because the Stampin’ Blends Combo is NOT Carrying over to the new Annual Catalogue (GET THEM BEFORE THEY SELL OUT!). The Designer Series Paper is the Artistry Blooms and is nothing if not bright (GET IT WHILE YOU STILL CAN).
Again, I added the stamped image to the inside of the card, but on the other side this time. Dare I mention that having got the items you need to make the first card, I only added four additional items to my shopping list. I hope this shows how just by making a few small changes in product you can make a very different card. But the question is, which do you prefer, the subtle look of the Gray Granite or the pop of the Mango Melody?? And did you get my hints that the Retiring items will not last for ever, so GET THEM WHILE YOU CAN!
