Facebook Live REPLAY – Featuring the Quiet Meadow Bundle from Stampin’ Up! Let me say off the bat that I am close to having a major falling out with Facebook. This week I was almost at the end, when it decided to drop me out of the stream with no warning. Come May, I will definitely be moving my Tuesday Coffee and Card event to YouTube! But enough of that, let’s take a look at the projects I made using the Quiet Meadow Bundle.
I decided to do some ink blending with our fabulous new Blending Brushes (which were in stock at the start of the week, but are now on Backorder!). I knew I wanted to use the Meadow Dies as simple silhouettes, so had die cut them in Basic Black card, but needed a good background. Along came the idea of ink blending a sunset.
I pulled the NEW InColor, Evening Evergreen, along with Night of Navy, Melon Mambo and Calypso Coral and set to work. It takes a while to get a good blend, but the result is stunning. The Evening Evergreen is the perfect deep, deep green for the look I was after. So I trimmed the piece down and added it to a Melon Mambo Mat and Black card base. Someone suggested that I add some birds, so pulled these from the Sailing Home set, using Stazon for a really black black. The sentiment is from the Quiet Meadow set, which I heat embossed using White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.
Next I changed the feel of card totally. Using Very Vanilla and Early Espresso Ink, I added the floral image to the side of the card layer. The faded words are in first, second and third generation Crumb Cake and the splatter is in second generation Early Espresso.
Again, I trimmed the mat to the correct size and added it to an Early Espresso mat. I wrapped some Linen Thread around this a few times before adding the little tag by tying a bow. The tag is backed with a second, Crumb Cake, tag that is glued to the front and attached with a mini Dimensional. The linen thread is a bit of a cheat as I curled it and glued it in place with a tiny dot of Multi Purpose Liquid Adhesive. Add a block or ink pad while it dries and it will keep that perfect curl in place.
