Springtime Joy for Blogging Friends. Welcome to the Blogging Friends Blog Hop for March, if you are following along, you may have joined from Diane Evans in Canada. You are now in the UK with me, Liz Yuille. I am sharing my first Easter Project with you today, and have definitely gone down the ‘cute’ route.
I have used one of the images from the Springtime Joy Stamp set on page 22 of the Mini Catalogue. This is full of cute animal images, but I selected the Bunny. I stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then coloured it with a few Stampin’ Blends. It is such an easy image to colour, and it fits perfectly in one of the Ovals from the Stitched Shapes Dies.
I used Crumb Cake for the body, and only added a little shading. The flowers are in Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral and Granny Apple Green. I used the light Granny Apple Green for the ground. Can you see the little touch of pink on the bunny’s nose? This is just a small amount of light Calypso Coral blended out with light Crumb Cake.
I decided to use some of the Playful Patterns Designer Series Paper as my background, but wanted there to be an obvious spot for the image and sentiment. A strip of Vellum is perfect for this, and to mirror the lines on the patterned Paper, I scored the Vellum ever 1/8″. This is a very subtle effect that is much more obvious in ‘person’. It is also a perfect place for the fussy cut sentiment, using the scored lines means that you can place these straight first time! Or is it just me who has an issue with straight lines?
The sentiment is stamped in Crushed Curry, so blends with the paper perfectly. Is it just me who loves the colour coordination across Stampin’ Up! Products? The reverse of the Sentiment and the image are perfect places for adhesive to be hidden, which is always a challenge with Vellum.
I hope you have enjoyed your visit today. If you would like to continue on the hop, please click on the link for Melva Peters, who is also in Canada, so you are returning across the Atlantic again!
