Scrapbooking Morning Mist with Retiring and Carry Over Products. It has been far too long since I last made any Scrapbook Pages, but while I am on my ‘semi-holiday’ I am trying to get back into it. It was always my great passion and I need to get that back into my life for so many reasons.
I have always found scrapbooking to be very therapeutic, especially when I am going through difficult times. With this in mind, while I take my semi-holiday, I need to do some more of this. I know it will help me to work my brain through all that has happened in the past few weeks. This first layout, which is VERY different from my usual style, has already helped me. It is not even about a momentous occasion in my life, it is simply recording some everyday moments.
Let it be said that I made this layout BEFORE I knew what was on the Last Chance List, so it is typical luck that from the four stamp sets I chose, three of them are going. BUT, as I write this, they are all still available, so if you want them, now is the moment. If you want an alphabet stamp set, this is the one you are going to want. Not only are there two fonts, but there are no alphabet stamps in the new Annual Catalogue. You have been warned!!
I took the photos on my phone back in the Autumn fairly early in the morning, before the sun had a chance to burn off the mist. I was lucky to be out for a walk at that magical moment when the sun streams through. This is one of my favourite moments and I just had to capture it. The light on the coloured cottages was also just perfect. Not so strong as to make them stand out too much, just enough to allow them to sit in their pastel colours.
This sentiment from the Under My Umbrella stamp set is perfect as a subtitle for the page. Stamped in Tuxedo Black and then punched with the Label Me Lovely Punch, layered on Soft Sea Foam card. I love the hint of the soft green across the page, just enough to take the layout from black and white to colour.
I repeated the layering of the label punch at the top of the page for a little extra interest and movement. In the picture above shows how I have layered the rectangular Swirly Frames and matted the photos on a piece of Vellum. Because I wanted the edges of the vellum to be soft, I made tiny tears and cuts into them.
Did you enjoy my trip down memory lane, bringing some scrapbooking back into my life? If you did, why not leave me a comment. I will share more of my pages in the weeks ahead, and may even make a regular feature of them. Let me know in the comments if you would like me to do more of these.
