Majestic Mountain for Stampin for Christmas. Can you believe it has been a month since the first Stampin’ for Christmas Blog Hop? Well we are back with more ideas to inspire you to start your Christmas Cards early. This month I am using two sets of dies, a length of ribbon and some embellishments, with some different colour schemes.
The first die cut is from Majestic Mountain, from the Annual Catalogue, and is a single pine tree. I love this image, it is so simple, but says exactly what you need it to say. BUT BIG TIP! I STRONGLY recommend using Adhesive Sheet on the reverse of the foil. This makes it so much easier to deal with, just an instant sticker.
The ‘Christmas’ comes from the Word Wishes Dies, which is also in the Annual Catalogue. Both dies use the Brass Foil, which has that extra sparkle and shine, which is perfect for Christmas projects. I added the die cuts to a piece of Basic Black card and then wrapped a piece of the Gold Metallic-edged Ribbon and then added some of the Gilded Gems.
The Basic Black Layer is popped up with Black Dimensionals before adding to a Basic Black Card Base. I know Black and Gold is not a traditional colour combination for Christmas, but I have received a few in the past and then always stand out. My second Colour Combination is also not that traditional.
Misty Moonlight and Silver is a great combination. The card is exactly the same as the Basic Black version, but using the cool end of the spectrum.
I switched the ribbon, quite simply, for the Silver Metallic-edged Ribbon. That is an obvious choice, but I was looking for a more obvious choice to replace the Gilded Gems, but there is nothing that is the sliver version. Not to be stopped, I simply used our Basic Rhinestones. These don’t have quite the finish I was looking for, but they definitely work.
I hope you enjoy these non-traditional Christmas Cards and that you will have a go at these, or something similar. I think we need to look outside the traditional Red, Green and Gold sometimes. You never know, you may find your new favourite non-traditional colour scheme simply by trying something different.
