Cards in the Mail to Me – Get Well Soon. Some of you may know that I managed to pick up Covid a few weeks ago, just as the infection rates in our area had dropped to around 30 in 100,000. There is a certain amount of inevitability about this for some reason. BUT, I have been blown away by the messages of support that I have had from so many of you. Today I want to share the handmade cards I have received. This will be a very different post as it will be lots of pictures, and not much from me. I have included links to the website of those of you who have them (or rather the ones I have managed to find!). So here goes.
Technically this is NOT a Get Well card. Rather, it is a Galentine cards from Barbara Marshall who lives in the USA, but arrived just a few days ago.
This wonderful Oh So Ombre card is from my lovely Team Member, Wendy March AKA Mamgu’s Attic (I am told Mamgu is Welsh for Grandmother and is pronounced ‘mamgee’). For more on Wendy, click HERE. Wendy has been a great support and is always going above and beyond. She is one of the kindest people you could meet. How she finds time to do half of what she does I really don’t know.
Another beautiful card from another amazing member of my Team of Sunflowers, Suzanne. Using the Beautiful Friendship stamp set to great effect.
I love the use of the Birch Background Stamp on this card from one of my wonderful customers, Una. The background is so subtle, but takes the card from simple to stunning.
This bright and cheerful card is from the lovely Nora. I think Nora is one of my longest supporters and customers, and when I say supporters I don’t only mean because she is a customer. Nora sends me wonderful emails, and I feel we have really made a connection.
How can you not smile when you look at this card from Team Member Nemonie. I am not doing this card full justice, because there is also stamping on the inside. I loved the Sale-a-Bration donkeys!
Now, this card was one of the very first ones that arrived, sadly I have no idea who it is from. The inside is totally blank, so if this is from you, please let me know, and THANK YOU!
Another really pretty card from one of my Team, Lorna. Lorna is such a blessing and so generous. She knows I LOVE sunflowers (I think you all know about my obsession with the happiest of flowers!) Every now and again a little parcel will arrive at Old Stables Crafts HQ with another of her amazing sunflower finds. This month it was a pair of really pretty sunflower trainer socks.
I think this was the very first card that arrived and is from fellow Pinkie, Kim Price. Kim is am amazing crafter and one of the kindest people you could wish to meet. Please take some time to visit her website HERE. She has such a knack of making a simple card look AMAZING. Such a talent, and she works full time too!
This card from another Pinkie, Julia Batten, not long after the previous one from Kim. Julia is based in Cornwall and can be found on Facebook HERE.
What can I say! This card is from my good friend and fellow Pinkie, Kate Bolt. Kate and I joined Stampin’ Up only a few months apart and have formed an amazing friendship since then. We meet for coffee (which ALWAYS turns into lunch!) as often as we can (when Covid restrictions allow). You can see more from Kate HERE. It is friendships such as this that make being part of Stampin’ Up! so much more than stamps, ink and paper.
Would you be surprised if I told you that this card is from another of my Team of Sunflowers? The lovely Jan and I met about 4 years ago when she came to one of my Coffee and Card events at a local Coffee Shop. Not long after that she joined my Team and is now my longest standing Team member. It has been wonderful to watch her grow in confidence in the last four years. I also know that if she suspects that I am having a tough time, she will send me a message to check in on me.
If you ever want a fantastic example of how ‘Less is More’ or a fantastic Clean and Simple card, then this has to be pretty high up the list. From long time Customer, Judith, this is stunning in its simplicity.
The next card to share with you has come from Ineke, who is a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator in the Netherlands. She and I have not met, but I feel we are getting to know each other little by little. She included the most amazing letter with the card, and I must say that this was written in perfect English. I am truly blessed that Ineke is in my life.
What a clever card, and I will probably have to CASE it soon. This arrived with the most beautiful note inside from fellow Pinkie, Helen Speakman. Although we actually live not far from each other, I first met Helen at a Stampin’ Up! event in Dortmund, Germany not long after she had become a Demonstrator. You can see more about her HERE. She is so kind and generous, and I am blessed to have her in my life.
This beautiful card is from another of my Customers, Claire. I love the colours she has put together and can I say just how impressed I am with the fussy cutting. You probably know that I am a great fan of fussy cutting and it is great to see projects with this technique. I take my hat of to Claire, this is NOT an easy image to cut around!
Last, but by no means least, this card is from another Customer and former Team member, Catherine. I love the boldness of this card, which continues on the inside! Catherine and I met a few years ago at a local event run by Stampin’ Up! She later contacted me to ask if I could run a stamping party for her and some friends at her house. What she did not know is that I had NEVER run one before, but that not wishing to let that stop me, we set up the date and time. As it happened, it was during a heatwave, but in spite of that, everyone had a great time.
I hope you all enjoyed seeing these cards and that they made your day a little brighter, as they did mine, if you go a little further down this page you will find a video which has a little more about each of the cards. Later in the week I will be sharing more Cards in the Mail to Me, so keep your eyes peeled for those. Remember that, just because I am taking a short break, my shop is open 24/7.
