Flower and Field Banner Cards Made on Facebook Live. Yesterday I made 3 cards during my regular Facebook Lives. They were not unlike my #SimpleStampin Saturday projects, other than the first card was probably aimed at the Casual Crafter who has a few products and wants to expand their projects around those. All 3 of the projects are perfect for using up some of those scraps that we all collect but never quite get round to using.
Casual Crafter Version
All the projects use a Mint Macaron Card Base. I read a post recently about Mint Macaron and that it is one of those colours of card that everyone should have in their stash, as it goes with so many other colours. I do understand the thought behind this. It is almost the neutral of coloured card, if that makes any sense. The other basic elements of the projects are some White card and some scraps of the Flower & Field Designer Series Paper that is in the Sale-a-Bration Brochure.
Avid Crafter Version
All the cards start with some simple layering of the strips of paper onto White Card. The paper pieces have had one end punched with the Banner Pick a Punch. The sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy Ink and some Linen Thread is added, before sticking the White onto the Mint Macaron card base. It is what happens along the way that changes the final look of the project. The first change is the addition of the Flirty Flaming stamped Heart, plus some die cut flowers with Bumblebee Resin Dots in the middle. The Linen Thread is only wrapped around the banners.
Avid Crafter Stepped Up Version
The next version has some additional die cuts, all taken from the Wreath Builder Die Set, using some small scraps of card. I added a punched Vellum Circle and fussy cut the sentiment and heart element. This time the Linen Thread is only used for a double loop bow, added to the cluster of small pieces in the top left corner. I used more of the die cut flowers, allowing them to fall diagonally across the card, drawing the eye from the first part of the sentiment to the end. Layering the pieces only takes a few moments, but the finished card is truly stepped up.
I really enjoyed putting the projects together and catching up with some of my regular Facebook Live attendees. I shared lots of hints and tips along the way, so if you want to join in, why not grab a hot drink (trust me, my Studio was cold yesterday, so you will need one!) and settle back to watch. Remember to subscribe to my YouTube Channel and hit that ‘Alert Bell’ if you want to know when I am Live on YouTube. My next ‘Live’ event is tomorrow afternoon at 3pm UK time and is on YouTube. Or catch me on Saturday morning at 10am.
