Heal Your Heart with True Love Slim Card. I am so pleased that the New Mini Catalogue is now LIVE! And don’t get me started on the fact that Sale-a-Bration is LIVE too! I am so excited that I had to combine items from both of these in today’s project for The Spot Challenge. This week we have the freedom to share a project of our choice, using techniques and a style that we enjoy.
This is the first Slim Card I have shared, and it will obviously need a handmade envelope, but I wanted to have a go at a card of this type. You won’t be surprised that I am including a few of my favourite techniques, specifically using Stampin’ Blends, Heat Embossing and Fussy Cutting.
I have used some of the True Love Designer Series Paper and coloured the flowers with a small selection of Stampin’ Blends. I am really enjoying using the True Love Designer Series Paper because you can either use it as it is, Black & White, or you can add any colours you want.
If you have visited my website before you will know that I am a huge fan of fussy cutting. I know I may be one of a small group who enjoys this, but I am also convinced that the more you use this technique, the more you will enjoy it and will improve the results. All you need is a good pair of Scissors, such as our Paper Snips. When I was at Fashion College I was taught that you should never lend your scissors to anyone else AND you should always keep them the same way up. Keeping my scissors the same way up is one of the reasons I have charms on my scissors.
The sentiment I used is from the Heal Your Heart stamp set, which is one of the FREE stamp sets you can choose if you place an order of just £45 during Sale-a-Bration. I love the font in this set, it makes it perfect for fussy cutting, especially if you Heat Emboss the sentiment so it really stands out.
I hope you can see from the pictures that some of the flower clusters have been stuck directly on the card, while some have been added with Black Dimensionals. What is especially useful with this design is that you can use images that are at the edge of the Designer Series Paper and simply add them to the edge of your card. The finishing touch is the addition of some Champagne Rhinestones, which match the Petal Pink and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends perfectly.
I hope you have enjoyed today’s project and that you will have a go at entering the Challenge this week. You can find all the details by either clicking HERE or on the Image at the top of this page. Just so you are aware, as I am writing this post BEFORE the Catalogue goes LIVE, I have not been able to include a link to either the Designer Series Paper or the Stamp Set.
