Handsomely Suited – Facebook Live Replay 12th January. Just for a change, the cards I had planned didn’t quite work out the way they were meant to. Call it user error!! You can see it all unravel by watching the replay of the Facebook Live further down this page. Remember to Subscribe while you are there, and if you want reminders/alerts for my YouTube Live Crafting you should also hit the Notification Bell.
The first card I made was the one on the left, with the braces. This is on a Pacific Point card base, with a full covering of Designer Series Paper. To make sure I get the paper exactly the right size I adhered a larger piece of paper to the card front before trimming it with my Paper Snips. Cinnamon Cider Velveteen Paper braces work really well with the patterned of paper I chose. Although Cinnamon Cider is not in the paper, it still works. BUT the die is slightly too short for the full height of the card, but I was not deterred, I simply cut the strips in two and them covered up the gap with the Silver Foil Clasps.
I had intended to add a pocket and a straight tie. Both of these would have been easier if I had not stuck the braces down before the pocket, or added all those Pacific Point buttons that I didn’t then want to cover up. Happily my viewers reminded me that I could add a bow tie instead!!
My second card is all about straight ties. It is a very simple card using two stamped and one Designer Series Paper tie. Simply added onto the card front with Dimensionals. A simple stamped and die cut sentiment finishes the outside of the card. But the fairly simple outside of the card belies the fancy inside.
I simply stamped the tie in steps down the insert. I did this by eye and had not planned (what a surprise!) exactly how I was going to decorate the inside, but I am really pleased with how it turned out. During my Live, I mentioned that in February I my Creativity in a Box Class in the Mail will be Masculine projects, so you may want to start thinking about signing up for that. I hope to have that ready to go in the next week. I will announce it on my Newsletter first, so if you don’t already subscribe to that, I would encourage you to sign up now. Please note that Classes in the Mail are only available to UK addresses.
