Dandy Garden Wishes YouTube Live Premiere! On Thursday I took the plunge and went Live, that said, I actually went Live much earlier than I had advertised!! OOPS!! Oh, and while I remember, #SimpleStamping Saturday will be back next week!
My Live Events during Sale-a-Bration will be:
Facebook – Every Tuesday at 11am UK Time
YouTube – Every Thursday at 3pm UK Time AND Every Saturday at 10am UK Time
I stamped the flower using Memento Tuxedo Black and left if for a few minutes, to make sure it was fully dry, before colouring with Mango Melody and Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends. I took my inspiration for the colouring from the Dandy Garden Papers. These have very loose colouring, rather than being precise. I think this adds to the finished image.
The sentiment, also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, was punched with the Label Me Fancy Punch. I trimmed the edges off the punched piece so the sentiment was a better fit. I find this fairly easy to do by hand. My tip for this is to look at where you are cutting to, rather than looking at the blade of your scissors. A tip I picked up from Fashion College.
The small dragonflies are punched from one of the patterned papers, just be aware that the punch does not line up with the large and small dragonflies on the paper, so rough cut the image you want first. So you have a handle on the small piece you want to punch out from, I find attaching this small piece of paper to a Post-it-note (other sticky notes are available!) helps. To add some different textures, I added a Bumblebee Enamel Dot to the middle of each of the dragonflies and some ribbon around the bottom 2 layers.
I even stamped and coloured the inside of the card for once! I know, wonders will never cease! NOW, I promised I would share the dimensions of the card, which I have done, as usual, further towards the bottom of this post. BUT the stamped image is not on a set sized piece of card, and, having measured it, for those of you in North America, the measurements are such that they just would not work for your sized card. If you watch the video you will see that I did my stamping and then cut my card down to the right size for my card. I strongly suggest you do the same.
