Crafting with Liz Yuille – Today we are using Corner Bouquet. Did you catch my YouTube Live on Saturday morning? If you did, you will see some close up photos of the cards here, as well as a list of the products I used. If you didn’t catch me on Saturday, you are in for a treat.
I decided to focus on 2 of the Level 1 Sale-a-Bration products. You can select either of these FREE if you place an order of at least £45, before P&P. If your order is over £90 you can choose BOTH of them, or one Level 2 item. The 2 I am using today are Corner Bouquet Stamp Set and Oh So Ombre Paper. I wanted to show you a different way to use the stamps and, thanks to the ingenious Audrey Shaw, I added an extra idea. Oh, and did you notice that some of the images in the Corner Bouquet Stamp set also appear in the Enjoy The Moment Stamp Set (#154452)?
My first 2 cards are basically the same, simply in different colours. The Oh So Ombre paper guided me with my colour choice, so my first card uses Rococo Rose ink, Paper, Ribbon and Card Stock. I simply inked up the larger of the two corner stamps and went around the edge of my White mat covering the edge of the card. Because some of the flowers in the stamp overlap each other, I was not worried if I overlapped them a little more. I had started with a larger piece of White card than I was going to want, but it meant I could then trim it down a little to even up the stamping around the edge. The measurements below are the TRIMMED size.
I added some Rococo Rose Gathered Ribbon and layered a sentiment from the So Sentimental Bundle on top of this, before adding some Gold Glitter Enamel Dots.
My second card is basically the same, but using Blackberry Bliss. I stamped off each of the floral corners before adding them to the White Card. Blackberry Bliss is such a dark colour, too much of it can be overwhelming. I used the same sentiment and switched the Ribbon to the New Blackberry Bliss Striped Ribbon from the Mini Catalogue. For both the cards I added a tiny bit of stamping on the inside of the card too, you can just see it in the photo above.
My final, and unplanned, card shows the inspiration that Audrey gave me. She added a comment during the Live saying she can see a butterfly wing in the large stamps. Well, that sounded like a challenge, so I decided to give it a go, using Aqua/Teal shades of ink. I switched to the smaller corner stamp and inked this up in Pool Party, Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay, before stamping onto a Silicone Mat. I placed my White card over the inked image on the mat and rubbed the back to pick up the ink. One wing done. I then inked the stamp up again and added the second wing. The two small images in the Corner Bouquet Set became the body and head, stamped in Pretty Peacock. A few Opal Rounds and some hand drawn antenna (using the Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Write Marker) completed the image.
I hope you enjoyed reading about the cards. Why not take a look at the Replay of the Live. Simply click the video image further down the page. If you are in the UK and want to order any of the items I used, the full list of products is her:
