Joy of Sharing – Blogging Friends Blog Hop. Welcome back to our monthly Blog Hop. This time we have a theme of Memories of Christmas Past.
Now, given that it is me who is sharing this project, you probably won’t be surprised to find that I have possibly taken this in a slightly different direction than the other Design Team Members. I have a sneaking suspicion that the idea behind this theme was to think about Memory Keeping, Scrapbooking, Memories & More. Yup, not what I am sharing at all! I am looking at this more from a Greetings Card oint of view.
I am using the Joy of Sharing Card Kit from the August to December Mini Catalogue for this project, and have actually only made up the 2 designs that come in the kit. BUT, and this is in capitals for a reason – it is a BIG BUT. These cards are PERFECT for using with standard 4 x 6″ (10cm x 15cm) photos, and you can make them in Portrait or Landscape – the choice is yours!
How much fun would it be to print out photos from Christmas Past and send them on a Christmas Card to the people in the photos! Especially this year, when few of us will be allowed to meet face to face at all, this is such a great way of looking back to Christmas parties from years gone by and sharing your thoughts of them with your families and friends.
It is so easy to change the layout of the card if you are using a photo, or not. And the number of pieces you get to play with, not to mention that the ‘negative’ space from the gold foil pieces is included in the kit, there is SOOOO much to play with once you have used the included 15 card bases. There is more than enough to make all the cards up without photos and still have elements left over.
I am not going to lie, I did struggle with the Gold Dots. Mine don’t appear to be adhesive, or rather then are, but not in a way that I can get them to stick. A tiny spot of Multi Purpose Liquid Adhesive will deal with that. I am also sure that the problem is me being inept!
The included stamp set is really useful and includes this large sentiment piece as well as smaller ones. The images are amazing, I am going to try to make a stamped wreath with them in the coming days, so watch this space!
But now why not take a look at my unboxing of the kit and how I put my cards together. I seriously can’t believe just how much is included! Don’t forget to check out the other Blogs in this hop too. I know there will be some AMAZING projects for you to look at.
