Heartwarming Hugs Tags – Facebook Live Replay. A bit of a late post from me today. My usual routine on a Tuesday is to hold my Facebook Live and then immediately take and edit my photos, upload the video to YouTube, and write the Blog Post. This takes something just over an hour. But yesterday was a special day. Yesterday was my Father’s 90th Birthday, so, because he is in a ‘social bubble’ with us, my husband an I travelled down to be with him for a special Afternoon Tea. We took everything that was needed, including Champagne. All my Father needed to produce was the actual tea (oh, and some milk). It was amazing to see him and was about as close to normal as we have been since my birthday exactly a month earlier. Of course, all of this meant that I was not able to do my usual post Facebook Live routine. Hence I am catching up this morning.
DECEMBER PRIZE DRAW!
Now back to the Facebook Live Replay.
Gift Tags
I decided that I would make some Gift Tags this week, using the Heartwarming Hugs Suite of products. I think a lot of people see this suite as only being used with the Mini Coffee Cups, but so many of the stamps are PERFECT for smaller projects, like Gift Tags. These can be so quick to put together, but can make such an amazing difference to your Christmas Gifts. To reference The Sound of Music, I am a great fan of ‘Brown Paper packages, tied up with string’. A really cute Gift Tag can turn these into a really special gift and make them stand out under the Tree.
As you can see, I chose to make two tags using embossing folders and two using patterned paper. Both of these require that you add an additional layer of Whisper White behind them to allow somewhere for you to write your ‘to/from’ and any special message. You can attach these 2 pieces with either Multi Purpose Liquid Glue or Stampin’ Seal, I used both.
How cute are these? The first 2 used the Wrapped in Texture Embossing Folders. These give some really simple, but stylish, texture. The patterns are small enough that even on a small piece of card you can see what the pattern is. When you are using embossing folders or patterned paper, I think it is important that your eye knows what is going on, so small is good. Both of the embossed tags use the Mossy Meadow Diagonal Stripe Ribbon to good effect.
Now is the turn of patterned paper. As you can see, I have chosen a small pattern, which with the Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper is easy, they are all small patterns! I switched ribbons for the patterned paper tags, showcasing just how amazing the colour coordination is. If there is one colour that is the hardest to match, it has to be red, but Stampin’ Up! makes it so easy for us. Just look at how well the paper and ribbon match!
My last tag uses the reverse of the first paper. This time the colours of the paper take a back seat, but the pattern is a great foil for the sentiment layering. Again I have used the Sheer Real Red Ribbon to tie in with the first die cut and tiny heart. This really helps tie the project together.
So, have I managed to inspire you to give these a go? Getting a little ahead with your gift wrapping needs is a great way to avoid too much stress later in the month. To see how I made these, and to have a little lighthearted break in your day, why not take a look at the Replay.
