#SimpleStamping Saturday – Wishes & Wonder Box of Gold Goodness. OK, let’s get this out there right at the start. I have three versions of today’s project to show you, and only one involves stamping, and it is not the Quick and Simple version. I say this only because this is not, technically a #SimpleStamping Saturday collection of projects. My thoughts are that if I am open and honest with you, I will be forgiven, especially as these are all stunning little packages.
Quick and Simple
With my confession over, I am going to share my Quick and Simple version with you. I think, with all the excitement of the Mini Catalogue and the build up to Christmas, we sometimes forget that there are some AMAZING products in the Annual Catalogue. The Gold Min Pizza Boxes fall into this category for me. They are stunning, and so quick and easy to put together. And I mean really quick and easy to put together. Don’t worry, I cover that in today’s video, so there is no need for guess work.
The decoration I have chosen is a simple belly band and a section of the beautiful foiled paper. I selected the Red Foiled Reindeer Board Games section of one of the sheets of paper. The image appears twice on the sheet, so it is simple to cut out the squares from one strip of the paper. So, the belly band is just a strip of the paper, wrapped round the box, not too tightly, and the ends stuck to each other, but not the box. by avoiding adhering the belly band to the box, you may be able to reuse the box (frugal, that’s me!). Then simply adhere the image to the belly band. You see, I told you it was Quick and Simple!
Stepped Up Version
For my first stepped up version I decided to use the reindeer image from the Wishes & Wonder stamp set and heat emboss it on Soft Suede card. I could have used Crumb Cake, but decided the Soft Suede would make the Gold Embossing ‘pop’. Because I was feeling lazy, and I have the matching dies, I simply die cut the images out, but they are not that difficult to fussy cut.
I replaced the Designer Series Paper strip with a length of the Shaded Spruce Ribbon from the Combo pack included in the Wonder of the Season Suite. It is a good width, so on a small box can work really well as a foil for the gold box (yes I can hear what I have written!). The deer are mounted on a 2″ punched Red Foil circle with some foliage, punched from the Green Foil using the Sprig Punch. Another winner of a gift box, I hope you agree.
Stepped Up Again
For my final version I simply replaced the punched and (not) fussy cut elements with die cuts. The stand alone Reindeer die is so elegant and I love that it embosses the neck as it die cuts, simply stunning. The Red foil punched circle and Green foil punched foliage are replaced with more of the die cuts from the North Pole Wonder Dies.
I used the same Shaded Spruce Ribbon for the Belly Band, it is the perfect size for the mini pizza box. I should add that the box is food safe, so if you wanted to bake something like cookies, you could pack them in one of these boxes and not need to worry.
So what do you think? Are these a winner for you? I love the speed of the original box, but none of the decoration takes much time, so you could make a few of these in a couple of hours, fill them with goodies and gift them to your neighbours, friends and family. I will leave you now to take a look at the Video Tutorial.
Remember that if you are in the UK and want any Stampin’ Up! products, I would be thrilled if you would consider shopping with me. I love spoiling my customers, so what have you got to lose? In the last couple of days I have received some really kind emails from some of my newer customers who had just received the Thank You pack I sent them. One said ‘Just received your beautifully wrapped little Xmas gift and card for ordering from you. So lovely when you get a surprise through the post’. Another said ‘Thank you very much for your delightful gift today, you’ve made my day’. Let me say that they made my day!
