Not Quite What I had Planned for Today! If you follow me on Facebook, you may know that I have had a small accident. As I was coming to the end of my run yesterday afternoon, I missed my footing and ended up taking a tumble. I have to say this is something I dread, not least of all because, having had Breast Cancer, my right arm is seen as ‘at risk’ of developing Lymphoedema. This can be triggered by injury or infection, and is a chronic condition, which brings a whole load of issues with it. In the last 8+ years I have managed to avoid it, so the feeling is that it would only be if there was something serious that this could be triggered. But it is always a worry. So, when I tumbled yesterday afternoon, I resisted putting out my right arm, and instead landed hard on my right knee, before completing the fall.
By the time I got home, my knee was very swollen, not to say painful! My running leggings are ripped (which is not a bad thing, as they helped keep the injury to a minimum) and will need either darning or replacing. After a shower and some careful cleaning, the graze is not too bad, but the knee cap is very swollen. Fortunately, having shared the news with my brother, who is a regular runner, his wife sensibly suggested that I apply an ice pack, which I did. As a result of that and some pain killers, the swelling has certainly been kept in check.
I spelt fitfully, so did not get up until after 9.30, which is VERY late for me. I was dreading getting up and finding what else had seized up over night. My leg is not too bad, but my right hand in particular, is quite painful. I have injured this a few times, so it is very susceptible to injury now, but does mean that I will be limiting the amount of crafting I do over the next few days Don’t worry, Facebook Live will happen tomorrow at 11 am as usual.
BUT, instead of finishing of the project I had meant to post today, not only have I not, I am also late with this post! I have a quiet day planned now while I wait for my UPS driver to arrive with my Joy to The World Paper Pumpkin Boxes, amongst other things.

Hi Christine, Thank you for your kind thoughts. I am feeling a little sorry for myself today, not least of all because it was such a stupid thing to happen. At least I didn’t have any witnesses, that really would have been embarrassing! Lx
Oh No. Big ouch. Sending Healing Energy and Blessings for a speedy recovery for your body. Bless Bless Bless: Mal, Melbourne, Australia
Thank you Mal, the knee is getting better slowly, but I think it will take a while. Note to self ‘Don’t run in half light!’ Lx
Oh how awful. Do hope you feel better soon.
Hi Val, Thank you, my knee is improving, but I think it will take a while. At the time the shock was the worst bit, I was a shaking wreck for about an hour! Lx
