How to Make a Snowflake Splendour Pyramid Gift Box. I am really pleased with how this box turned out. I was worried at one point that it was not going to work, but it has, so I am happy to share it with you now as another of my Handmade Christmas ideas. This box was made to take a 3 pack of Jaffa cakes, but it is a very roomy box, so would take lots of goodies!
I decided to mix the Snowflake Splendour Designer Series Paper with the Warm & Toasty Stamp Set. When I saw the paper in the Catalogue (here’s honesty!) I really didn’t like it, it just didn’t seem to be my style. But, you may know that at the start of every new Catalogue I offer Paper and Ribbon Shares, so whether I liked it or not, I was going to get the paper and I am so glad I did. It is beautiful! I particularly like the way it captures the frost pattern you often get on windscreens and shallow puddles. Truly stunning papers!
The first box I made uses one of the multi-colour papers, so I picked out Highland Heather as my feature colour so there is a bit of contrast between the card and the paper. The contrast is perfect, and using a slightly different colour gives an extra element of surprise for the recipient.
I paired both boxes with the Arm & Toasty stamp set and chose the singing rabbits for both boxes. I picked out colours from the paper for the colouring, using the neutrals of Crumb Cake for the rabbits and smoky slate for the sledge runners and shadow. Even adding the Metallic Mesh Ribbon, which gives a great feeling of frost on a cobweb, I felt that something was missing, then I remembered the Glitter Star Ornaments. I added these to tags by using their thread as the thread attaching the tag to the ribbon. To cover up the bleeding from the blends, I punched another piece from Whisper White card and sandwiched the thread between the two layers.
Pool Party Monotone Version
The version in the video uses one of the Pool Party patterns of paper, with Pool Party Card. I think this gives another really different package for Christmas. Pale blue for Christmas décor is a favourite of mine, and have a set of pale blue ornaments to decorate our tree. I do admit I can decorate our tree with pretty much any colour without needing to buy any extra baubles. There are boxes and boxes of them in our attic.
I used Light Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blend to get a colour close to Coastal Cabana (which is also in the paper!) but otherwise limited the colours of the rabbits to the Pool Party Stampin’ Blends Combo. So what do you think? Are you going to give these boxes a try? They really are a fantastic size, so I would urge you to give them a go.
