How to Make a Christmas Card Using In the Pines and Winter Snow. I love the simplicity of this card, although there is actually quite a lot going on. I started by die cutting the circle from the Whisper White layer, before running it through the Winter Snow Embossing Folder. The stamping is pretty straightforward, and if you start with the Gray Granite, you don’t need to clean your stamp before using the Basic Gray. This is done on a scrap of Whisper White and to make sure it was in the right place, I simply drew round the outer edge of the circle die with a pencil, and kept my stamping within that area. I was looking for a cluster with some depth, so used first and second generation stamping.
To do the heat embossing, you need to make absolutely sure that the Classic Ink is dry first. The easiest way to check this is to sprinkle the powder over the stamping. If it sticks you need to dry the ink, if not, you are good to go. Simply add a few trees using Versamark Ink and then heat emboss with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Add this behind the circle and attach with your chosen adhesive. While you have the Versamark and embossing powder out, stamp the sentiment on a scrap of paper.
The Whisper White elements are layered on Brushed Metallic Card, but to make it go further, I ‘gutted’ the main layer so I could use the middle for other projects. The sentiment is also matted on the metallic card and added with Dimensionals.
I am so pleased with how this turned out. I am really liking cards that have ‘white space’ at the moment. Sometimes there can be too much on a card, which makes it confusing for the eye to work out where to look. Clean and Simple has its place, even at Christmas
