Facebook Live Replay – 17th November 2020 – Brightly Gleaming. I have a really great time on my Facebook Live yesterday, although I think my brain was on a holiday for much of it! Why not grab your favourite beverage and settle down to join me as we take a look at what we got up to.
Very Vanilla Stamped Ornaments
Imagine my joy when I found out DURING our Facebook Live that, although the items I was using were Returning Favourites, there is not just a simple Bundle Price, but a Bundle Variety Price. This is for the Stamp Set, Punches AND Specialty Designer Series Paper. If you buy all 3 products and use the Variety Bundle Item Number you will save 10% off ALL THREE Items! So this is an even BETTER reason to use buy and use these products.
My first card is a simple card with 2 layers of the paper, bordered with Copper Foil and then some stamped and embossed ornaments. I have not given measurements for the paper, simply because the front panel just needs to be the same size as the card front (I use a larger piece and trim it down with snips after it is attached). The second piece of card is attached in much the same way, simply by cutting a piece to the width you want, attaching it so it lines up with the top, then trimming any excess with Snips.
The Copper Foil trim is very easy to make. Just add a strip of Tear & Tape to the back of your foil, as close to the edge as you can get it. Trim to the width you want, in this case 1/8″ (approx 5mm). And there you have a copper foil sticker. The Ornaments are simply stamped on Very Vanilla card and punched out before adding with Dimensionals and popping a Star on the top of each.
Coloured Card Heat Embossed Card
The paper for my second card is attached in much the same way as for the first. The only difference is that the lower piece has an angle at the top. This is not a ‘magic’ angle, it was simply the one I happened to cut. I wanted to show something a little different, rather than always having rectangles.
This time I heat embossed the ornaments with Gold Stampin’ Emboss powder and added a double Linen Thread Bos to the top of each. I know the paper has Copper foiling on it, but I actually have no problem with Copper and Gold on the same project.
Copper Foil Punched Card
This card is probably the easiest I made. It is just a piece of the Designer Series Paper adhered to the front of the card. The ‘design’ element is a piece of Copper Foil with the larger of the 2 ornaments punched out of it. I added the foil to the card front with Dimensionals so that there is some depth.
The hardest part, for me, was to get the knot how I wanted it. I used the really pretty Pretty Peacock and Old Olive (or is it the other way around?) Reversible Ribbon, but I ‘need’ the ends of the ribbon to have the same colour facing up. This means there is lots of twisting of ribbon needed!
Heat Embossed Copper Ornament Card
I am not convinced by my last card if I am honest. I don’t think it works having the 2 ribbons on it, so I would probably remove the Copper Trim. What the card does show is that you can heat emboss on foil card. You need to be careful not to let the card get too hot, but it works really well.
I do like the Copper Trim on the Ornament, but it does look a little ‘forced’. What do you think? I would love to hear your thoughts on all the cards from today.
