#SimpleStamping Saturday – A Merry Hello. This week I am using the A Merry Hello Host Stamp Set from the August-December Mini Catalogue. I have been meaning to use this for some time, so I can now tick that off my ‘To Do’ List.
Why I waited for so long I really don’t know. I love this stamp set and included it in the Project Kit for my recent Team Virtual Retreat. Nine of us spent a day together (thanks to Zoom) having a laugh, crafting, chatting and generally having a fantastic time just being together in the one way that was possible. The next Team Event will be in January or February 2021. If you would like to be part of that, why not buy the best value kit in the whole catalogue, the Starter Kit. It is such amazing value at a total cost of just £99 (129€) for your choice of £130 (175€) of products (with no additional P&P)! Click HERE to join today. My Team is across the UK and Europe and you would be assured a really warm welcome, get access to the new Mini Catalogue in December AND benefit from a discount of AT LEAST 20%. No selling required, just enjoy the discount and have fun!
Quick and Simple
My Quick and Simple Card today doe involve some 2-Step Stamping, but because the stamps are clear, it is not too difficult to get them lined up. That is, of course, unless you are on camera and the camera is where you need your head! Just watch the video to see what I mean.
I chose to use Poppy Parade and Granny Apple Green for the colours, I think these really ‘pop’ off the page for the simple version of this card. I did use the single Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to join the ends of the stamped ‘string’, although any black felt-tipped pen would probably work. Do you love the 2020 and holly leaves on the envelope as much as I do? They are just so cute.
Stepped Up Once
Although I used Poppy Parade and Granny Apple Green for my Quick and Simple card, I decided to change to Real Red and Mossy Meadow for both my stepped up versions. I wanted to use Stampin’ Blends and, although these are available in the brighter colours, I wanted to use their muted cousins for both these versions (you will see why in a moment!)
I added coloured card to the the mix for this card, I also stamped extras of all the stockings so I could colour them and then fussy cut them and pop them up on Mini Dimensionals. The Gilded Gems to help disguise the join between the strings of stockings.
Stepped Up Again
For my final version I decided to add some of the Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper, currently 15% OFF! It was this decision that pointed me towards using Dark Real Red and Light Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends. I also introduced the Banners Pick a Punch for the sentiment. This makes layering the sentiment strips so simple.
Instead of stamping the stockings and string, I decided to really step this up by using some of the Gold Cord from the Wonder of The Season Ribbon Combo Pack. I started by tying a bow in the middle of the piece of cord and attaching this to the card with a Mini Glue Dot. The ends are attached behind the paper using ordinary sticky tape, before layering on to the Real Red mat. Of course the fussy cut stockings are added with Mini Dimensionals.
Which is your favourite version? You know I love to hear your thoughts on this, so why not leave a comment here or on by YouTube Channel. You are going to watch the tutorial aren’t you?
