Home Together Welcome. Today’s project is slightly shocking, there is no stamping on it, anywhere! Sometimes it just isn’t needed, and this is one of those cases. A welcome to your new home card for one of the new residents in our village. I do like to drop a little welcome note in if I hear that we have new people moving in, after all, it was only just under six years ago we were new. And let it be said, in our village we will always be thought of as new!
I love the look of Mint Macaron against Rococo Rose, I think it was a match made in heaven, But all that Mint Macaron was just a bit too much, so I ran it through the Old World Paper 3D Embossing folder to give it a bit of a self pattern. It was just what I was looking for.
I also like the look of both Mint Macaron and Rococo Rose with Soft Suede, but I don’t think I have ever tried them all together. I think it works, do you? As the card base was Soft Suede, I decided to make the little house Soft Suede too, and added Crumb Cake to the mix.
Do you like the copper ‘welcome’? It is from one of my favourite die sets; Well Written. This has so many really useful words, all in this pretty script font. As I had already include Copper in my design, I decided to add the Copper Trim from the Gilded Autumn Suite. It is the perfect addition, not too wide, but a proper solid copper.
The finishing touch was to add a short piece of ribbon to look like it was two ends tied together. I love this look, so much easier than actually tying the ends together.
Oh, and did I mention that I have used the Trimming the Town/Coming Home Suite for this month’s Card Class in the Mail? Making 2 each of 8 really pretty cards, this is a kit not to miss. Just £30 plus P&P for the Basic Kit, which is anything but basic, and includes all the die cuts, punched elements, ribbon, embellishments and half a pack of the Trimming the Town DSP. You will also get access to step by step video tutorials and a pdf with photos and dimensions so you can reproduce the projects time and time again. For all the details, take a look HERE.
