Forever Fern in the Autumn plus Bulk Die-Cutting Tips. At as if by magic, it is Friday!! What a week, it seems to have gone on forever. Today I have a video as well as my blog post. I wanted to show you just how easy it is to do mass production when using stamped die cuts. Trust me, when I say easy, I really do mean easy.
I was originally only going to show how I made the Autumnal version of this project, but then the Designer Series Paper Sale came along, so I decided to share one version using the Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper as well (yes, it is in the SALE at 15% off). But let’s start with the Autumnal version and how I created that. It is actually quite simple to put together, and you start with the background. I simply decided where my ‘pattern’ was going to start and then just added the spotty stamped image in each of the four colours of ink, starting with the lightest everywhere and adding the darker shades only towards the imaginary line.
Autumnal Project
The stamped leaves are simple to stamp and die cut if you follow my tips. Not only are they simple, following my tips means you can make these in bulk. What you need to do is start by doing the die cutting. Don’t ink up your stamps yet, that will come later. Just do your die cutting and KEEP the negative space.
Now this is where you need to watch my video to show you just how easy it is to do bulk stamping with your die cuts and your Stamparatus. I could explain it in written words, but trust me, it is MUCH easier to explain in a video. What I will say here is that the only colour in the Autumn version that I used full strength is Bumblebee. All of the other colours are second generation. This gets you a much softer look. Oh, and I added the ribbon BEFORE I added the die cuts.
Traditional Green Project
I love Designer Series Paper, but I REALLY love discounted Designer Series Paper, it makes me feel happy that I can use the paper knowing that it was not full price. In fact I will buy extra so I feel that it is all discounted, even the packs that I already have!! I know, the maths doesn’t work, but it still feels like that!
Again, the only full strength ink is the palest, in this case Soft Seafoam. The only real difference between this card and the first one is that I replaced the stamping in the first card with patterned paper. It is great that you can simply change up a project a little to get a different feel to the finished project. That has to be one of the most wonderful about this great craft, not only that creativity is good for your mental well being, but that you can actually make very different projects using exactly the same basic ideas.
