Beautiful Autumn Greetings – Facebook Live Replay – Monday 19th October 2020. I must start by thanking everyone who joined me on Monday. Many of you will know that a close friend or ours passed away suddenly a couple of weeks ago and his funeral was yesterday. I hope those who joined me, will agree we had a great time looking at the Beautiful Autumn and Autumn Greetings stamp sets. They work so well together, so it was a given I would run a Facebook Live with them at some stage.
Simple Fussy Cut Card
You may have seen my #SimpleStamping Saturday projects over the weekend using the large floral/foliage and the Clear Wink of Stella Brush. I loved using that stamp so much that I knew I needed to make some more. This first one is pretty simple with just the image stamped on Crumb Cake with Soft Sued ink. I layered it on a Mint Macaron mat and a Thick Very Vanilla Card Base. The Basket Weave ribbon from the Combo pack helps to tie in the mat.
If you have followed me for any length of time, you will know I LOVE fussy cutting, so I stamped the sentiment on Very Vanilla and did just that. You could simply stamp on a narrow strip of card, but fussy cutting stops the sentiment from overpowering the rest of the card. Popped up on Dimensionals with a few Gold Glitter dots lifts the project.
Wheat Sheaves Simple Card
Our family crest is a single ear of wheat, and it is that crest which I have on my signet ring. My wonderful parents bought me the ring for my 21st Birthday and had it re-engraved for my 50th. It is one of my most treasured possessions and has only been off my finger when it was being re-engraved. With this in mind, any image that has a single ear of wheat is going to be attractive to me. And so I bring you this card.
I accept that the stamping is not totally central. If I had been making this off camera I would have made sure that the clusters were not only central, but evenly spaced, but that is one of the joys of Facebook Live, you just have to go with it. The Gilded Gems lift what could have been a plain card to something a little more special.
Pumpkins for a Friend
This is another simple design, although because if involves die cutting, I would not expect a new paper crafter to have a Cut & Emboss machine, although adding it to the Crafting Starter Kit is a great way to get it at a discount. I digress. Other than the die cutting, this is a simple card. Stamping in the background, and some layering on top, finished off with a sentiment strip.
Because I used Foil Card for some of the die cutting, I didn’t feel there was any need to add any other embellishments. I do think people shy away from foil card sometimes, but it actually is a very cost effective way of adding some ‘bling’.
Hammered Paper and a Corn Dolly
This is another simple card, but one that, again needs a Cut & Emboss machine. I was a little concerned that the die cut did not stand out enough, so, at the very good suggestion of one of my viewers, I ran a Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Marker around the edge. This worked really well, and would have been perfect if I had not gone off track a couple of times. You know me, I keep it REAL!!
I especially like the ribbon on this card. I saw something similar on Pinterest and loved how it looked. The ‘Corn Dolly’ name came from another of my followers and I think it perfectly describes the result.
