#SimpleStamping Saturday – Nothing’s Better Than…Coffee. I know I say it every week, but seriously, where did the week go? In the UK it was a shorter week as we had a Bank Holiday on Monday, but even so, the week seems to have gone really fast! But it is Saturday, so time for another #SimpleStamping Saturday project. I have used Nothing’s Better Than again, but using the Coffee Cups for the first time.
Quick and Simple
Our first card is, as ever, very quick and simple to make. I added the sentiments, in Early Espresso ink, first so I could get the spacing right. Then I added the two outer cups, filling the gap in between with the middle one, before adding the ‘filler’ in Petal Pink. The 2-step stamping for this set is very forgiving, so is a great set to use if you are at all worried about this stamping technique.
The texture is added using one of the Masks in the Basic Patterns set. I attached the mask to the card with a piece of washi tape. I could see the stamping through the pattern, so it was easy to add some Crumb Cake ink (using a Sponge Dauber) without going over the cups at all. Other than adding another cup to the envelope, that is the Simple Card done.
Stepped Up
My first stepped up version introduces coloured card in full sheets. The card base is Petal Pink to tie in with the cups. the stamping is all exactly the same as on the Quick and Simple version, but, other than ‘Coffee’, is done on separate pieces of card. I fussy cut the cups out, which was not too difficult as these are a simple shape. The two sentiment strips are have been added to Brushed Metallic Card, and the top one ‘popped’ up on Dimensionals. The Coffee Cups are also on Dimensionals, and just as the original version, I added the outside ones first and added the middle one last.
You probably needed to hear about the background before this point, but here we go now. All I did was add some Crumb Cake ink to the centre of the card, with a Sponge Dauber, and then added the Mask over the top and used Soft Suede Ink to add the dots.
Stepped Up Some More
For my final version I have added some more ‘bling’ with a mat of Brushed Metallic Card (I gutted it to save on waste). I die cut ‘Coffee’ this time. The cups have been stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with Gold powder. I decided to stamp the sentiments on the layer this time as I felt adding them on strips, like the previous version, would be too much. I think it was the right choice.
The background was started in exactly the same way as the previous version, by adding Crumb Cake with a Sponge Dauber. This time I used Versamark ink through the mask before adding Gold powder. Make sure that your layer is completely dry before you do this so you don’t end up with stray powder. I used a dry brush to remove some of the powder so the pattern was not too uniform.
Which is your favourite? I would love to hear from you, so why not add a comment below. Then you could have a look at today’s tutorial to see exactly how I made the Quick and Simple Version. I also explain more about making the stepped up versions.

Liz, I love all three versions of this card, but if I had to choose a favorite, it would be the More Stepped Up one with gold embossing. Love the bling. Enjoy your day!
