Facebook Live 29th September 2020 Replay – Day 13 Halloween or Christmas? You Choose. Today is the last day of my Halloween or Christmas? You Choose series and today is combined with the Replay of my Facebook Live from yesterday. I made three cards during the Facebook Live, but I didn’t make a Christmas card, so I have made one just so I can include it as the final part of the series.
I had such fun making this card with all of the inking and was so pleased with how it turned out. I hope you agree that it makes a great Halloween Card. The Artistry Bloom sequins are the perfect finishing touch.
My Christmas version, which I made after the Facebook Live, uses the same basic inking technique (sponge Daubers with a touch of Glycerine to help get a smooth blend). I only used one colour for the blue, Seaside Spray, and two for the sun, So Saffron and Mango Melody. I added some of the Snowflake Sequins that have returned this year for a second outing.
But of course I need to know which of these cards you prefer. So far the Halloween projects have got a slight lead, especially from people in the UK, which is a little odd as we don’t really embrace Halloween that much. Please leave a comment either at the bottom of this post or on my YouTube video.
The other cards I made both used the Beautiful Autumn Bundle. The first is inspired by a project I saw on Pinterest, made by Mary Fish in the USA. I have changed it up a little, but I like to give credit where it is due. This is such a simple looking card, although as it includes some die cuts, technically I would not call it a ‘simple’ card.
My second card with this bundle includes a Gold Hoop from the Forever Greenery Suite in the Annual Catalogue. These are great to use as a way of ‘grounding’ other elements of your card. It is not that easy to see in the picture, but I have included a piece of the Very Vanilla Ribbon from the same Suite. I gathered it up by pulling on a couple of the threads. The leaves in the background are stamped in Mint Macaron, which is one of the colours in the Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Papers. I think I will be making a few more cards using the Gilded Autumn Suite in the coming weeks. It really is a stunning set of products.
