Day 9 – Halloween or Christmas? You Choose – Banner Year. I had very little time to design this card, but the idea came to me as I was walking to the Post Box and saw all the rubbish bins out for collection. I suddenly thought about scraps and how to use them. So here you are, some quick cards using up those annoying scraps of Designer Series Paper that you know you should do ‘something’ with.
Halloween?
This is the card I made on camera, so there was a certain inevitability that it would not work out exactly like the original. That said, I am pleased with how it turned out. Using the Pretty Peacock and Blackberry Bliss card means it has a slightly more sophisticated feel about it. There are times that using ‘traditional’ Halloween colours is just not the right thing to do.
Of course, using my favourite Iridescent Pearls means that I am a very happy girl. I really can’t get over just how stunning they are. They seem to take on the colour that they are near. Just look at the one in the picture above, it is definitely taking on a Pretty Peacock hue.
Or Christmas?
I have to say how much I LOVE this card. All those pretty patterns next to each other is simply stunning. Of course starting with stunning paper does make it harder to make an ugly card! There is just something about the way all the pieces sit next to each other that I find so appealing. I suspect I will be making a few more of these to send out this year. It will certainly mean I can use the last little piece of this stunning paper pack.
A simple adhesive gem and bow, with a hint of the Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper gives the card just the right lift to make it a proper Christmas project. I like a little ‘bling’ on my Christmas cards. It just feels ‘right’ for the festive season.
Of course I want to know which you prefer. Please don’t be swayed by my preference.
