Day 3 – Halloween or Christmas – You Choose – Essential Everything Bundle. I love this Essential Everything Bundle, it is great for so many occasions (and I know I say that about a lot of products, but I do mean it!) This one is easy to see the occasions you can use it for, you only have to look at the stamp set. But being able to make projects that have such a different ‘Feel’ is the main reason I love this.
Just look at this rich purple package, how can that be for any event other than Halloween? OK, the paper is covered in spiders, so why wouldn’t I add some spiders web with the Metallic Mesh Ribbon? The Blackberry Bliss tag, backed with Black Glitter Paper is just the right touch to keep the Halloween effect.
The Iridescent Pearls make another appearance as the finishing touch on the tag. But what I am really pleased with is the way the ribbon is used to attach the tag. The ribbon has been fed through from the back of the tags before the knot was tied. Doing this means the tag lies flat against the package and the knot is part of the embellishment.
I know I am biased, but I don’t think the 2 versions are obviously the same. I mean I know they are, but if you saw one in October and the other in December, would you think ‘I have seen her make that before’? It is one of the great things about crafting, but I believe Stampin’ Up! have got this down perfectly, simply by changing a couple of elements you change everything. The changes here are the paper and ribbon, everything else is basically the same.
By using the ‘traditional’ Christmas colours, a pack of paper that actually has no Christmas images on it, suddenly ‘becomes’ Christmas. Just by adding a Christmas image on the tag, in fact, not even the image, just the sentiment.
The ribbon has been attached in the same way as for the Halloween version, but this time I tied a bow, rather than a knot and wrapped the ribbon around twice. And can you see the red Wonderful Gem? Isn’t it the perfect touch for the top of my Mossy Meadow tree?
Halloween or Christmas? You Decide!
So, which is your favourite. I know which mine is, and yet again, Halloween has won out. Halloween is not an event in my life at all, but I am really enjoying this year’s Halloween products.
So, go on, which is it to be? Do let me know in the comments at the bottom of the page.
