Day 11 – Halloween or Christmas? You Choose – Little Treats. Welcome to the last few projects of my mini series, I hope you have enjoyed what I have shared so far. If this is your first visit, you will be wondering what I talking about, don’t worry, just trust me on this.
If you have joined me from Jessia Brigden in the USA, you will know that I am taking part in the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop. However, you are probably really confused by the whole ‘Halloween or Christmas? – You Choose’. It is just a bit of fun where I make two similar projects, one for Halloween and one for Christmas, but using the same main products. As the Blog Hop has a theme of Halloween, this fits right in!
Halloween?
I had such fun making my Halloween project for you. I used the Cobwebs 3D Embossing Folder (if you watch the Video Tutorial you will see how I managed this) and Basic Black card. Adding Bumblebee card and ribbon gives the project a little lift so it is not too ‘dark. The ribbon is tied around some of the Playful Pets Trim that I have frayed. Take a look at page 70 of the August-December Mini Catalogue to see the inspiration for this project.
But I think the Spiders are my favourite element. I have used this die on previous projects, but using foil card. This time I have used Smoky Slate card, but inked up the die before I fed the die through my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss. The Black and White trim is from the Playful Pets Trim Pack, simply frayed and tied with a piece of Bumblebee Ribbon.
Or Christmas?
The Christmas Version is made exactly the same way, but using the Dainty Diamonds Embossing Folder and some Festive Felt. The ink for the stamping, the Braid and the Felt are all Real Red, and being Stampin’ Up! you know that the colours are going to match exactly, even though they are in such different materials. The colour coordination is just one reason why Stampin’ Up! make crafting so easy.
Can you see the stitching in the felt circle? That is the sign of a great die. It would be a great look on card, but on felt it is amazing.
