Whether they are for Tricks or Treats, these Tins are so cute! I LOVE packaging, and I mean I am slightly obsessed with it. I spend at least a day wrapping all my Christmas Presents. Before I started running my own business, I would save Annual Leave so I could take a day off just for this.
I love all my parcels to be special in some way, so these Rectangle Tins and the Gift Wrapped Bundle seemed to be a match made in heaven.
My first pairing was with paper from the Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper pack. I love the twist on traditional red and green. It is the inclusion of Pear Pizzazz that adds that unusual element. I think I just about managed to mirror it on my punched bow. I used Light Mossy Meadow to help keep the green light, with just a touch of the Dark Mossy Meadow for shading.
The sentiment I chose is the perfect size to use with the Banners Pick a Punch. So, stamping in Real Red Ink and layering with Real Red Card was simple.
The finishing touches were even easier, with a few of the Wonderful Gems. I love the way the facets catch the light, and that tiny hint of glitter is the perfect addition to both the Clear and the Real Red. Of course, I used both!
My second version uses paper from the Snowflake Splendor (or in the UK, Splendour!) I honestly didn’t think I was going to like this paper when I saw it in the Catalogue. I think it was the Highland Heather I wasn’t sure about. Don’t get me wrong, I like Highland Heather as a colour, but I just wasn’t sure it was right in this paper. I was so wrong. The watercolour effect on these papers is outstanding.
As it happens, the paper I chose to use for my second tin doesn’t have Highland Heather in it. I paired the pretty snowflake paper with Misty Moonlight and Balmy Blue, again using the Light Blends in each colour.
The finishing touch for this one was the addition of the very unromantic sounding Blue Adhesive Backed Gems. It does amuse me that we have the well named ‘Wonderful Gems’ and then simply ‘Blue’. They are in 2 shades, Balmy Blue and Night of Navy, but as they are not only facetted, but also iridescent, they will work with most of our blues. They certainly finished my project off well.
Before I leave you to watch the video, just one thing I have discovered since filming. I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere the paper to the tins. If you add the Stampin’ Seal to the paper, if you want to reuse the tin, the paper will peal away leaving very little stickiness. Add the Stampin’ Seal to the tin, and you have a very different story. Either way will give you great adhesion.
