#SimpleStamping Saturday with Love of Leaves. When you read this, I will be in the middle of the Stampin’ Up! Leaders’ Summit. This is going to be such a great event. We were originally all going to gather in New Orleans, but the pandemic put pay to that. As it happens, with the hurricane hitting the southern States, it may have been cancelled at short notice. My heart goes out to all those being hit by this dreadful weather; you are in my prayers.
Quick & Simple Card
This week I am featuring the Love of Leaves Stamp Set. I selected to only use one colour, in addition to Very Vanilla. This means that the product list for the card is VERY short. Just the stamp set, a pack of Note Cards & Envelopes and one ink pad. It really is all you need.
One of the benefits of our ink pads is that you can get a few shades of the same colour, simply by ‘stamping off’. Cinnamon Cider is a great example of this, as you will see in the stepped up versions of this card. I stamped the sycamore leaf using 2nd Generation ink, but I used the full strength for the sentiment, just tucked in under the leaf!
Stepped up Card
For my first stepped up card, I added full pieces of card, cut to size. The stamping shows exactly what I mean by generation stamping. I used the full strength of Cinnamon Cider Ink for the darker shade, and second generation for the paler image. There was no need to re-ink my stamp in between.
I added the sentiment to an off cut of card and then punched it out using the Classic Label Punch. The finishing touch was to add 3 of the 2020-2022 InColor Enamel Dots. Even with the addition of the extra items, the list of items is still short, and the project is still monotone.
Further Stepped up Card
For the final version of today’s project I have added the Stitched Leaves Dies (buy the Stamps and Dies as a Bundle to save 10% on the combined price) and the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. I started by stamping the leave image in second generation ink, before running the card layer through the embossing folder. The Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder give a really great, but subtle, texture to the layer.
I added a die cut leaf off set over the stamped leaf. This time I stamped and fussy cut the sentiment, before adhering it to the die cut leaf. Fussy cutting sentiments can be a great way to add them without adding too much ‘bulk’ to the project.
None of today’s versions are particularly difficult, the differences are simply down to time and supplies. I would love to know which one you like best. Why not leave me a comment here or over on my YouTube Channel?
