Facebook Live Replay – Tuesday 4th August – Featuring Press On. Today I have the replay of yesterday’s Facebook Live. I hope everyone else enjoyed themselves as much as I did, I had a total blast!
I decided to feature just one stamp set, but with lots of options. What is slightly worrying is that I had not planned out any of the cards I made, Why is that worrying? Well I am about to change my Facebook Live projects a little. From the start of September I am going to be planning the cards in advance. This will then allow me to send out Card Kits to anyone who places an order with me the month BEFORE. The kits will include all the card, paper, ribbon and embellishments you need to make each of the cards that I will make on the LAST Facebook Live of the month. This will allow me time to get them all out to you. You will need to provide your own stamps, inks and adhesive. To qualify, your order needs to be at least £25 and use the Host Code for the month (unless your order is over £150). More details will follow in the coming weeks.
The Cards
The first card was even less planned than the others. It was not until I really looked at the stamp set that I thought about this one, so it really was made up by the seat of my pants! Just two inks and two card colours, Bumblebee and Cinnamon Cider, were needed. I wanted this to look like a sun and as far from being associated with coffee as I could get. I used a sentiment from a different stamp set, but you could substitute any suitable one you have. The heart is in the Press On set.
I seem to be enjoying using Black card at the moment, so was not that surprised when I pulled Black for this card. I used the Magic in This Night Designer Series Paper, which inspired the colour scheme of Blackberry Bliss and Cajun Craze. The main feature for this card is the heat embossed the take out cup and sentiment with Gold Stampin’ Emboss powder. The banners use narrow strips of paper, punched with the new Banners Pick a Punch. A few Gold Glitter Dots finish the card off.
Would you have guessed that this paper is from the Snowflake Splendor (auto correct is going mad with that spelling!) pack? I love all the watercolour washes there are to choose from, many have snowflakes, but not all. This is a very simple card, stamped in Tuxedo Black and then coloured with the Misty Moonlight Blends Combo. I added a really narrow strip of the new Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper and some Blue adhesive gems. We did have a discussion about gem placement during the Live. My basic process is to use an odd number and to frame the ‘main feature’ I want people to look at. It should be subtle, so no one knows that you are encouraging them to look there.
My final card is probably the nearest to a Christmas Card, given that it is in Red and Green. A simple row of Take out cups, stamped in Tuxedo Black and coloured with Real Red and Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blends, is the main feature. I cut the card down to 1″ so it fitted into the Banners Pick a Punch perfectly. To add something a little extra, I added 1/2″ strips of the Red Velvet Ribbon and the patterned paper. All layers up and attached with Dimensionals, surrounded with 3 resin dots from the All the Trimmings Embellishment pack. Can you see how they help you to concentrate on the cups, rather than scan the whole card?
