Celebrate Sunflowers Inlay Technique. After yesterday’s pretty quick and easy project I thought I would try another simple, if more time consuming. How does paper piecing grab you?
All that is Foil and Glitter
I already had some of the elements I wanted to use on these cards ready. I try to save any die cuts in the stamp case with the dies, for future projects. In this case the Brass Foil pieces were waiting to be used, stored on pieces of Press ‘n Seal. The outline and central elements were all I needed to cut.
Now, I am not going to pretend this is a quick project, it isn’t, but it is NOT difficult. All the petal elements have Adhesive Sheet (item #152334) applied to the card before die cutting. All you need to do is fit the petal pieces into the outline. Once you get started it soon falls into place.
If you have visited my site before, you probably know that I am found of a little fussy cutting. So, having heat embossed the sentiment with Gold Powder, I fussy cut the words, before adding them to the card with Dimensionals.
The ribbon is from the Gilded Autumn Suite in the new August- December mini catalogue. The final touch was to add some Gilded Dots and stamp on the inside of the card.
InColor and Regal
But, that was the card I made before shooting my video. My video project is slightly less elaborate ,using standard card (not that our card should ever be called ‘standard’). I went for more traditional Sunflower colours, Bumblebee and Cinnamon Cider, this time. The mat is Mossy Meadow, which is close to the colour of this year’s Sunflower crop here at Old Stables Crafts HQ.
I finished the card with some Cinnamon Cider ribbon, Gold Glitter Dots and the sentiment stamped in Early Espressobon Bumblebee. Although it is clearly the same card, changing the colours makes such a difference.
Video Tutorial Time
To see how I put these together, why not watch the tutorial. I promise it is not difficult. It is just like a jigsaw puzzle!

What do we hear in the back ground ? Owls ? Mourning doves ? Dogs ? Martin howling ? 🤔😜😭
I think it may be either the local cows complaining, or thunder.
