#Simplestamping Saturday meets Tree Angle – Not Just for Christmas. Welcome back to my website. Sorry this is a little later than usual, this has been one of ‘those’ weeks. But I am here again with another of my #Simplestamping Saturday projects, combined with my ‘Not Just for Christmas’ mini series, highlighting products coming soon in the new August to December Mini Catalogue.
The Tree Angle Stamp Set co-ordinates with the Stitched Triangle Dies if the Annual Catalogue. So if you have the dies, either on their own or bundled with the Right Angle stamp set, this is a perfect add on set.
Quick and Easy
I am using Very Vanilla Note Cards and Envelopes this week to make a fairly simple card, with just 2 ink colours. I have chosen Petal Pink and Pear Pizzazz as my 2 inks. For me they are about as far from Christmas as you can get. I accept that others may embrace these as non-traditional colours. Just 3 stamp impressions and you are done. A repeated the flowers on the envelope. Boom! Card and envelope done.
Stepped up Version 1
For my first stepped up versions I switched Pear Pizzazz for Silver Heat Embossing and Petal Pink for Gold. As you can see, I split the tree and the greeting by placing a piece of ribbon, coloured with Dark Petal Pink Stampin’ Blend. I added some Petal Pink Elegant Facetted Gems next to the sentiment. The Very Vanilla layer is mounted on to a Petal Pin and then popped up onto a Pear Pizzazz card base. I accept that this could be a bit too close to being a Christmas card.
Stepped up Version 2
Time to add a few more advanced techniques. I started by repeating the stamping colours from the #simplestamping version, but with added heat embossing (watch the video for tips and tricks on this). Obviously, I had to do some die cutting, particularly as I already mentioned that the Stitched Triangle dies. I die cut the 3rd from smallest equilateral triangle from the middle of my Petal Pink layer (waste not want not!). The stamped triangle was die cut with the next one down.
I added the sentiment strip punched and layered using the new Banners Pick a Punch. My final touch was some more Elegant Faceted Gems in the top corner.
