Magic in This Night and Celebration Tidings Bundle – Not just for Christmas. I know that my ‘mini series’ is looking at Christmas products that can be used for non-Christmas projects, I hope you won’t mind me swerving a little to include Halloween too. I am not a great fan of Halloween. In the UK there are too many stories of people being really concerned about ‘Trick or Treaters’ calling on them and being rude, threatening and generally just not nice! In the village I live in, there is an understanding that you will not be visited by Trick or Treaters unless you have a pumpkin outside.
Why have I shared my thoughts on Halloween? Because I LOVE the Magic in This Night suite, and it really is NOT just for Halloween. In today’s video I go through the papers to show how very few of the patterns are Halloween themed. The first project I have made to share with you today uses a full piece of 12 x 12 paper to make, what I think, is such a pretty bag.
I have used the really pretty dies from the Celebration Tidings Bundle to form the flap over the top of the bag. Adding Silver Heat Embossing, using one of the stamps from the set, works really well with the Black and White paper and, of course, the Metallic Mesh Ribbon.
Does this shout Halloween? Absolutely not, what you have here is a really pretty black and white bag, which will hold lots, and looks so cute.
I also made a smaller version of the bag, using another of the patterns. This time I started with a 6 x 6″ piece of paper so the finished bag is really cute. Again I used stamps for the heat embossing on the flap, but this time I used gold embossing powder on Blackberry Bliss, to try to steer as far away from Halloween as possible.
As one of the colours in the paper is Pretty Peacock I used the Scalloped Linen Ribbon from the Annual Catalogue as the tie for this bag. Because the ribbon is a little bulkier, you only need to tie a knot to get a great effect. To find out all the tips and tricks I used, please take a look at the Video below.
