Little Treat Box Coming Home – Not Just for Christmas – At Last! Well that took longer than I had hoped. Do you ever have those mornings when nothing really goes according to plan. That has certainly been my day so far, but I am finally managing to get this project posted.
This is another of my ‘Not Just for Christmas’ projects, this time using the oh so cute Little Treat Box die. I have paired it with Coming Home again, because I am loving that some of the houses in that stamp set are the right size for the sides of this treat box. Although my project for The Spot Challenge used items from the Trimming the Town Suite (releasing on 4th August), I did not use the stamp set. BUT THE STAMP SET IS REALLY SPECIAL.
Coming Home is the set that Stampin’ Up! has released as part of their ‘Making a Difference’ programme. Whether you purchase the stamp set on its own, as part of the bundle or the suite collection, £2.50 will be donated to charities devoted to adoption, foster care, and infertility. What perfect choices for a Christmas Stamp set. I will be featuring this quite a bit in the coming weeks and months. As a child I had a lot of friends who were adopted and I know just how important it is that these children find happy homes.
The die is amazing and makes it so easy to put a little gift box together. This would be perfect on a Christmas Table, assuming we are allowed to meet with friends and family by then. I can see them being used for wedding favours, Easter Treats, Christmas Tree Decorations. Gosh, the ideas just keep coming. There will definitely be more projects coming with this die and the matching stamp set. Remember if you get the stamps and the dies, using the Bundle Item number you, you save 10%.
Non Traditional Christmas
For my projects today I finally inked up my Coming Home stamps and made a Pool Party version with a more Christmas feel (non-traditional colours). I added the same house to the front and the back of the box, both with the little wreath on. Well, I say ‘little’ wreath, but on any of the houses in the stamp set it is enormous! I coloured the house with Pool Party, Ivory, Cajun Craze, Poppy Parade and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. I love using Ivory for windows, it gives a ‘warm’ feeling and I can imagine an open fire in the rooms. The windows and glass in the door all have Fine Tipped Glue added so there is a shine to them. I tied the top of the box with ribbon/trim from both the Flowers For Every Season and Forever Greenery Combos.
Not Just for Christmas
The ‘Not Just for Christmas’ version is in Crumb Cake with the house coloured in Crumb Cake, Pool Party, Soft Suede and Smoky Slate. This time the top is tied together with the Sheer Pool Party Ribbon and Braided Linen Trim, which I frayed for a softer look. I hope you agree that this has a much less Christmas feel to it.
