Kylie Bertucci Blog Highlights – So Sentimental. I know it is unusual for me to have a post at this time of night, but this is a special post because I am taking part in Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Highlights. This is a great opportunity to be featured on her blog. In case you don’t know, Kylie is the top Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator in Australia and is amazing at helping other Demonstrators.
The Projects for Kylie’s Blog Highlights are all on the theme of Thanks or Gratitude, which is such a wonderful Theme. We should let more people know that we are grateful for them or something they have done. Just being there may be enough, so let’s tell them we are thankful.
My project has used some of the designs from the Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper. One of the sheets in particular has the look of dry brush marks in bands of colours. It is this that I have taken as my inspiration, but I am using bands of similar colours, rather than the contrasting colours in the paper. I made 2 versions, one for a Birthday Card and one for the Highlights Gallery. The one above is the Birthday version. The one below is for the Highlights.
I have listed the inks I have used in shopping list further down this post. The key to this card is that I cut a mask from one of the sheets of cards that back our 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper. It is perfect for this as it is slightly shiny and a little thicker. I used one of the Rectangle Stitched Dies to make the slit, moving the position to extend the slit. By adding the ink through this means that you will get a crisp edge, but will avoid tearing your card with over sticky washi or masking tape. The mask also protects the rest of the card from accidental inking.
To finish both cards off, I selected a dark, but toning, ink and stamped the sentiment over the lighter colours. The final touch was to add some of the clear Elegant Faceted Gems. These pick up the colour from whatever they are adhered to. They are the perfect way to add something and nothing. Now the moment of truth. Will you take a couple of moments to hop over to Kylie’s Blog Post and Vote for me?? I would be so grateful if you could, I believe I will be number 40 in the Gallery. The winners get to take part in a Blog Hop with Kylie, which is one of those ‘Money Can’t Buy’ prizes. Simply click on either the image at the top of the page, or the ‘Vote for Me’ button HERE:
Now, why not watch the video to see exactly how I made the cards. It really is very simple, especially if you add my secret ingredient!
Just so you don’t worry, tomorrow’s Top Tip will be a little late. It is simply that we have a power outage and my video needs to be uploaded. Fingers crossed for the morning and power.
