Jar of Flowers Embossed and Coloured Mason Jar. Welcome back, or welcome if this is your first visit. Today I have a card tutorial using the Jar of Flowers Stamp Set and the Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper, from the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue. I knew from the moment I opened the new Annual Catalogue that I was going to love the whole of the Flowers For Every Season Suite.
Somehow I have not used the Jar Punch that is Bundled with the Jar of Flowers Stamp Set yet, although I have used the stamps quite a bit. With this in mind, today’s project was made specifically so I could use the Punch. I wanted to end up with 2 very different results from the same basic supplies. One card is soft and subtle, the other is absolutely not!
All of the stamping is using Smoky Slate. The flowers on both cards are stamped in second generation ink, so the outline is not as prominent as it might have been. I realised after making the first version that the stalks needed to be stamped in full strength ink to be more obvious through the vellum jar. All of the colouring is then done with Stampin’ Blends, the first in soft Subtles and the second in bolder Brights. Both cards have used InColors, Purple Posy on the first and Just Jade and Magenta Madness on the second.
For the jar, I stamped in Versamark on Vellum and then heat embossed with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. On the back I have continued my love affair of using Stampin’ Blends on Vellum, Balmy Blue on the first and Misty Moonlight on the second.
A small piece of ribbon around the neck of the jars does a great job of covering the gap between the stalks and the flowers.
