Facebook Live Replay – Tuesday 28th July – Simply Citrus and Feels Like Frost. This week’s Facebook Live definitely had 2 parts. We started by looking at the Returning Favourite Paper, Feels Like Frost. I paired this with Forever Fern and Forever Gold Specialty Designer Series Paper.
Feels Like Frost Meets Forever Fern
I was thrilled when I heard that this paper was going to be a Returning Favourite in the new August – December Mini Catalogue. It was so popular last year, and I am sure it will be again. I got through so many packs of it, but still ended up with a few sheets left over, and it is these I pulled for my Facebook Live yesterday. I knew I wanted to pair these papers with the Forever Fern Bundle, but also the Forever Gold laser cut papers. As the paper has Silver Foiling on the reverse, it may have seemed slightly strange to pair it with gold. If you look at the cards I have made, I hope you agree that with the right paper, the gold is a match made in heaven.
For my silver version I simply die cut the leaves from Silver Foil card and added a few coloured leaves stamped in 2nd generation Highland Heather and Smoky Slate Inks. The sentiment is on a label from the Hippo & Friends Dies. There are some amazing labels in that die set, so even if you are not a fan of the stamp set, it is certainly worth a look. The ribbon is the Purple Posy Ribbon from the Playing with Patterns Combo, it is so pretty and works really well with this paper.
The gold version of the card uses just enough of the Forever Gold to add the shine, but not so much to be overwhelming. Rather than the solid laser cuts, I deliberately chose the filigree pieces so there was not too much solid gold, the paper only needs the smallest amount to not be too much. I used one of my favourite punches (cut down) for the sentiment and layered that with Rococo Rose card and Gathered Ribbon. I am still on my mission to show just how versatile some of our punches are if you look at them in a different way.
Which is your favourite? Are you all for the Silver and cool colours or are you going to embrace the warm tones of the Gold version?
Simply Citrus Card Kit and Workshop
I love our kits, they are perfect for beginners, but also great for more seasoned crafters. One of the real selling points for me is that they contain EVERYTHING you need to make the cards. You can swap a few things out if you wish, but for the beginner it is great to know that there is just nothing else needed. They are really quick to put together, so if you need a card at short notice, these are great to have to hand.
Once you have made all the cards (and sent them out!) what do you do with the Stamp Set? Well keep it of course and make more cards. To help you with that, I am relaunching my Creativity in a Box Sets and the Simply Citrus Kit is the centre for that. My Creativity in a Box will use the stamp set from the Simply Citrus Kit. When you purchase this Kit from me between now and the end of August, you will be able to opt to get the Simply Citrus Workshop supplies for just £15 more.
Creativity in a Box RELAUNCH!
The workshop will include all the card, die cuts, punched elements, ribbon you need. You will make 5 different designs of Note Card AND a Mini Pizza Box, including decorative wrap, to turn those cards into a gift. All you need to do to reserve your Workshop add on is to order the Simply Citrus Kit, using the Host Code (unless your order is over £150 before P&P), and then drop me an email to request the Workshop supplies. I will then send you an invoice, pay that to trigger my sending the kit and email instructions. Currently, this kit, and the instructions, will only be available to customers who purchase the Simply Citrus Kit through me or members of my Team (who always get any of my Card Classes FREE!) I may, at a future date, release the instructions as a standalone purchase. I only sell Stampin’ Up! Products in the UK, so this is currently ONLY available to those with a UK address. The deadline for ordering and paying for your Simply Citrus Creativity in a Box is 14th August. By the way, there are No Sneak Peeks!
I will be offering at least one Creativity in a Box Workshop every month, so keep your eyes peeled for more information on those. I have lots of plans almost ready to announce about these and other Class@Home options, so if you are not on my Newsletter list yet, now would be a great time to sign up.
