Tasteful Touches Ombre Feathers

Tasteful Touches Ombre Feathers. Sorry this is a little late today, I had meant to make this project yesterday, but then I started digging up some old tree roots in the garden. Let’s just say that I am now on a mission. If I keep going at this rate I will be somewhere on the way to Australia before I finish!

The Project

Today’s card is the first I have made with the new Tasteful Textures Stamp Set and the Tasteful Textiles 3D Embossing Folder. The Tasteful Textures Stamp Set can be bundled with the Tasteful Labels Dies, which are AMAZING.

I decided to make a Purple Ombre card using the feathers. I wanted an odd number of the feathers and was hoping to be able to get 5 generations of ink from Gorgeous Grape. Which I could, but the final one was VERY pale. Adding one feather in Highland Heather in second place was all that was needed. And, yes, there is then a lot of fussy cutting, but feathers are an easy shape to cut, so it didn’t take long.

Putting it together

I adhered the Gorgeous Grape embossed layer onto a Highland Heather Mat and then added some of the Purple Tricolor Ribbon before adhering the mats to the front of a Purple Posy Tent Fold card base. The ribbon makes a perfect line to add the feathers onto. These are popped up on Dimensionals. For a sentiment I heat embossed in white on Gorgeous Grape and then cut up ‘You Are The Best’. The words are just the right size to add between the bottom of the feathers.

Alternative Colourway

I wanted to see what the card would look like in a very different colourway, so I made it using shades of Red, Orange and Yellow. Specifically I used Poppy Parade, Calypso Coral, Pumpkin Pie, Mango Melody and So Saffron. I switched the Purple Ribbon for the new Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon. The sentiment is on Poppy Parade, so on the So Saffron mat layer, it really pops!

See how I put the Purple version together in today’s video.

Which do you prefer, the Purple or the Red/Orange/Yellow? Please let me know.

I mentioned in my video that there is an AMAZING Joining Offer starting on 3rd June. In addition to the usual Starter Kit Offer, you can add ANY Stamp and Punch or Stamp and Die BUNDLE, that means you could save an ADDITIONAL £55.75 (€72.75)!
