#SimpleStamping Saturday With Hand-Drawn Blooms Bundle. Where is this month going? We are nearly half way through it already! Of course that also means that we only have just over 2 weeks before the 2 amazing Promotions are over. But let’s not worry about that now, after all, it’s #SimpleStamping Saturday, so we have three projects to look at.
I have used the Hand-Drawn Blooms Bundle for this week’s projects so I could showcase this stunning set. When I first saw it I did wonder if it was a ‘one trick pony’, but I am convinced I am going to be able to make lots of very different projects with this set. Today I am simply using the set in the ‘expected’ ways, because that is important too.
Quick and Simple Card
The Quick and Simple card is on a White Note Card this week. Now, let’s cover the elephant in the room from the start. I am just waiting for someone to ask me how I could expect a new stamper to line up the top and bottom of the bouquet. Well, here’s a confession, I didn’t line them up well in the one I made on camera. I was really pleased I didn’t because it gave me the opportunity to show you just how easy it is to fix. All you need is a black pen (I used a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker) to add the missing lines. Then just scribble some colour using Watercolour pencils and blend that out with a Blender Pen.
Casual Card
The first stepped up version is basically the same card, just swapping out the Watercolour Pencils and replace them with Stampin’ Blends. Again, some of the colour, especially the Just Jade, was simply scribbled roughly around where the greenery is. I did add a sentiment, which I inked up using the Magenta Madness Stampin Write Marker. Of course I also added both of the Whisper White Cards, plus some Magenta Madness as a mat. The Magenta Madness Mat is popped up with Dimensionals. Getting the 2020-2022 InColor Card pack is a great way of getting a few sheets of all the new colours so you can try them out.
Avid Card
My final card uses the large die from the Banner Blooms Dies and some Fluid 100 Watercolour paper. After I had die cut the shape I covered the whole of it with a good amount of water. To add the colour I scribbled colour from the 2020-2022 Stampin’ Write Markers on a block and picked it up with one of our new Water Painters (more on those in a moment). While that was drying I stamped the sentiment, again using the Stampin’ Write Markers, onto Whisper White Card and then die cut them with the same die. It is a simple job to trim the banners away from the rest of the flowers. I added them with some Multi Purpose Liquid Glue once the watercolour was dry. There are enough reasonable sized areas to add Dimensionals. The rest of the card is put together in the same way as the previous version.
But That’s Not All
In today’s video there is a break near the end. I was filming when there was a possibility that an urgent call I had been waiting for came through. It does mean that the end is partly a repeat of some of the earlier part. BUT other than getting more information about how I made these projects, there is also a tip about the new Water Painters. What? Well, it is simply this. I really struggled to get the top off the barrel, until I realised that the unscrew and screw the opposite way round from the Aqua Painters. Just be aware. That said, on first outing I really like them, especially having the really broad brush.
I hope you enjoyed the video. I would really encourage you to take a look at all of my videos as I do rely on these to explain the finer details of how to make each of the projects. Although I can write step by step instructions, but I find them a little dull to both write AND read. This is why I shoot my videos, I think it is much easier for you to SEE how a project is made, rather than try to work out exactly what I mean in my instructions.
