#SimpleStamping Saturday Hippo Happiness. I am going to be really honest with you. I only bought the Hippo Happiness Bundle because if the amazing label dies that come with it. Cute little animals are generally not my thing, but I thought I would get the whole bundle and see if I could get inspired. Today’s #Simplestamping Saturday would not have been possible otherwise. And I chose to use the Unicorn because I love the sentiment ‘when in doubt, be a unicorn’!
Quick and Simple
I chose to make my unicorn in shades of purple, so pulled Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape ink pads. Most of the stamping is done in Highland Heather, and that is where you start. I will not give step by step instructions, those you can find in the video! What I will say is that I have stamped on the envelope, of course!
Casual
As my stepped up projects tend to do, for my Casual version I have added coloured card to replace the Note Cards and Envelope and a few more elements and equipment. I also ‘fussy’ cut my Unicorn, I could have use the die, but I tend to associate die cutting machines with the more Avid Crafters. I chose to use one of the designs from the Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper. This includes both ombre and abstract patterns and is great when you want to layer it up, as I have done here. I wanted a wider ribbon than the Tricolour Ribbon I used, so I simply added 2 pieces and layered them to get the width I needed.
Avid
My final version uses labels from both the Hippo & Friends dies and the Tasteful Label dies. You maybe wondering why I fussy cut my unicorn again. Well I I wanted to have a narrow edge of Rainbow Glimmer around my unicorn, so fussy cut the unicorn itself, using the die for the Glimmer Paper. I repeated the layered look for the sentiment to help tie it together.
