Beautiful World for The Spot Challenge #113. Are you ready for another The Spot Challenge? Our theme this week is ‘Masculine’. You can find the challenge page simply by clicking on the picture below.
When I placed my pre-order for the New Annual Catalogue I stupidly thought I could wait until the Catalogue Launch day (TOMORROW!!!) before I would need the Beautiful World Stamp and die bundle. I had ordered the World of Good Specialty Designer Series Paper, jut not the Bundle. BIG mistake, so another order had to go in. I am so pleased I did, because the bundle is amazing, and perfect for this theme.
I decided to do a little ageing on the Specialty Designer Series Paper, it looked too pristine otherwise, so I simply ran the edge of my snips around the edges and tore a few pieces off, then added some Mossy Meadow Ink with a Sponge Dauber. Just the look I was after. I had already decided I was going to use Very Vanilla for my quill and the card base, and Mossy Meadow for the mat under the DSP. The pack says that the paper is on a white base, but I think some of the papers will work really well with Very Vanilla, and this gives a more ‘aged’ feel.
The sentiment is Early Espresso on Crumb Cake, and, yes, I did fussy cut it! Although I could have die cut, or just cut, the sentiment, I didn’t want it to be too solid, which could have made the card to ‘blocky’, so fussy cutting was the way to go. The quill is Mossy Meadow on Very Vanilla, and those of you who don’t like fussy cutting will be pleased to hear there is a die for this.
The strip across the card is Mossy Meadow with the new BRASS foil behind it. The die for the strip is a little short to stretch across the whole card, but it is simple to extend it just by moving it along your cardstock and making sure that the die slips into the slots cut on the first pass.
I hope you enjoyed this card, it is a little different from my normal style, but is actually very similar to my style of about 10 years ago, so maybe this is a look I will be doing more of. Do remember to have a go at entering the challenge, here is the link again:
