The Spot Celebrate Sunflowers. Welcome to another Spot Challenge project. This week we have a sketch with a small limitation. You are only allowed to make a square card. So, you can change the orientation of the layout, but we are looking for square cards.
As soon as I saw the sketch I knew I was going to have to use the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set from the new Annual Catalogue. The large Sunflower image is perfect as the circle element on the sketch. I nodded at the horizontal and vertical lines by placing my sentiment and some additional die cut elements along those.
Just a quick bit of housekeeping. There is still quite a delay getting orders shipped and delivered, so if you want to be at the front of the queue for items from the NEW Annual Catalogue, why not get the Starter Kit TODAY and add items from the Demonstrator Pre-order list? Not only will you beat the queue, you will also save money on this AND on future orders!! All the details are further down this post.
The background is the AMAZING Old World Paper 3D Embossing folder, also from the new Annual Catalogue. I used Sahara Sand card and then ‘aged’ it even more by adding some Crumb Cake Ink with a sponge dauber. This helps to pull the pattern out of the paper. I also aged the edges of the layer with the blade of my scissors and added more ink to the edges.
In the video today you will see that I used Shimmery White Card for my sunflower, but for my original card I used Watercolour Paper. I wanted to see which one worked best. They are both heat embossed in gold (twice) and then coloured using re-inker with some Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint for added sparkle.
I know which one I like, but which is your favourite? Take a look at the video and then let me know in the comments below.
