#SimpleStamping Saturday Bee Thankful. I really enjoy my #SimpleStamping Projects. I think it is important to share projects that are easy for a new stamper, but that show you can step them up as you develop as a crafter. Not that I don’t sometimes make a batch of #SimpleStamping cards, because I do. There are times when these are the best project you could possibly want to make. Thank you cards at times like these are definitely something to make lots of and carry around with you to hand to anyone who helps make your day better. Obviously, you need to keep to the social distancing rules.
I chose to highlight the Bee Thankful stamp set today. This is not going to be in the new catalogue, but I love the cuteness of the stamp. I know it is a ‘one trick pony’, which I generally steer clear of, but there was just something about this set that attracted my attention. I have used it LOTS.
The #SimpleStamping version is just the image, coloured with the retiring InColor Stampin’ Write Markers, well 3 of them. There really is nothing complicated about it. As the Markers have dual ends, brush and writing tip, it is really easy to colour this set, even though there are some very fine details.
For my first stepped up version I introduced the Noble Peacock Specialty Designer Series Paper in Blueberry Bushel as well as Whisper White and Thick Whisper White card. To colour I selected the Stampin’ Blends in the same colours, so Pineapple Punch, Call Me Clover and Lovely Lipstick. For an added detail I punched the top corners of the white card with the Trio Punch and popped the piece up on Dimensionals. Don’t you love how the punch mirrors the pattern on the paper?
The next version introduces one of my favourite techniques, which featured on my Top Tip video this week. What was it? Fussy cutting of course. To see the Top Tip Video, simply click HERE. I really enjoy doing this because it can change the look of a stamped image, just by using a pair of scissors. For the background piece I simply ran a piece of Blueberry Bushel card through the Layered Leaves 3D Embossing Folder. This is a great way to turn a piece of flat card into something special. A few Glitter Enamel Dots finished the project off.
I would love to know which version you prefer. I do find that I am not always drawn to the most complicated version, sometimes simplicity is key. Why not let me know your favourite either in the comments below, or on my YouTube Channel.
