Scrapbooking on Friday. I can’t tell you how long it has been since I last put a Scrapbook Page together, other than to say it is too long. I have now got to let you know that there will be no 12 x 12 Scrapbook items in the new Annual Catalogue and, certainly in Europe, all 12 x 12 Page Protectors are now sold out, but there is a 12 x 12 Album still available (and reduced) if you want to grab one before they are gone. For the writing, I used our retiring Journaling Pens, which I love, and have stocked up on!
I am determined to do more layouts in the coming weeks, hopefully one a week, but we will have to see how that goes. My first layout is one featuring a photo of some of the Apple Blossom in our ‘orchard’, if 4 Apple Trees and 2 Pear Trees count as an orchard!
I took the photo last week, during our glimpse of summer weather. The photo turned out way better than I thought it would. I love to have the focal point in focus and the background not, but it doesn’t always work out that way. This time I got exactly what I was after, including the amazingly blue sky.
To see this page come together you are best watching the Video. But my main thoughts on this are 2 fold, to use up some scraps and to make sure I included my own writing. Let it be said, I hate my handwriting, but I will ALWAYS include some writing. For me it makes the pages more personal. The other thing I ALWAYS include is the date. I have a retired SU Stamp Set that I often use for that, which has various options for how to include it. I was sad to see that go, but it is one of the very few sets that I have hung on to after it retired.
This page is really quite ‘clean’ for me and my usual style when it comes to scrapbooking, but I did manage some paint splatter and love that I used up some scrap pieces. As ever for my Scrapbooking Process, I finished with the small elements. I like these to be in little clusters and in triangles. I could go on and on about why triangles work on a layout, and do mention it in the video, but for now, just accept that they do.
Before you worry about how long the list of products is that I have used, PLEASE remember that I have just used some scraps. If you don’t have all the papers, that is not an issue, just use what you have. It isn’t called ‘Scrapbooking’ for no good reason!! Oh, and while I remember, if you are wondering if I found what I lost, the answer is ‘Yes’ it is the one in the pictures. Not sure what I am taking about? Well you will have to watch the video!!
