The Spot Challenge – Mothers. Welcome back to another The Spot Challenge Project. Today our Theme is ‘Mother’s Day’, but as in the UK this was some weeks ago, I have gone with the general theme of ‘Mothers’.
I have chosen to use 2 stamp sets. The one I was never going to buy, Beautiful Moments, and one that is retiring from the Stampin’ Up! Catalogue, Here’s to Strong Women. I am really pleased that Beautiful Moments is carrying over, not least of all because I have only just got hold of it, but I am going to be sad to see the back of Here’s To Strong Women, it has some great sentiments that are perfect for everyone.
My project today is a variation on one that I did a couple of weeks ago on my Coffee & Cards Facebook Live, but with a very different feel to it. To see that version, take a look at THIS POST. My previous version had a much softer feel to it.
I am a great fan of leaving some stamps embellished, if the line art is right, there is no need to add much else. Today I am going monochrome, but with a slight difference. I have used Night of Navy card and Heat Embossing with Shimmer White Embossing Powder, which will not be in the new Catalogue. The stamping runs from the central, raised, element across the background mat, so you could ask why have the central element at all?
My answer is that having the main image framed by the really narrow frame of Whisper White, plus the dimension of being popped up makes a huge difference to the final project.
I hope you will take part in this week’s challenge. You can find the Challenge website either by clicking the Theme Picture at the top of the page, or just click HERE.
