The Eiffel Tower – Parisian Blossom. Welcome to, or back to, my blog. I hope you had a great weekend. Are you like me at the moment, not really knowing which day it is because they are all merging into one. It is a little odd that I am not keeping track of the days. Doing what I do, I work from home anyway and can work as and when I want. So why am I confused, well, in normal times, I do have regular Coffee & Card events twice a month as well as full classes. So why not help me keep my routine by joining me on my Facebook Business page every Tuesday at 11 am (UK Time) for a virtual Coffee & Card Live?
My card today uses the Parisian Beauty Bundle and Specialty Designer Series Paper, but what is different is that this is a card aimed at a male recipient. I have introduced some Coastal Cabana to help make this have a more masculine feel, and avoided both the Petal Pink and Cherry Cobbler that appears in the papers. The Eiffel Tower is die cut from Coastal Cabana (and I actually used the middle of the Mat to die cut this). I also cut 2 further Eiffel Towers in Pool Party. I actually stuck 2 layers of cardstock together before die cutting, this saved time both with the die cutting and the adhering. I should stress that these dies are not that tricky to stick together if you only apply glue to the larger areas. Watch the video to see what I mean by this.
The finishing touches are to stamp the inside of the card with a sentiment (I used one from Itty Bitty Birthdays) and the Eiffel Tower. The sentiment is in full strength Pool Party, but the Eiffel Tower is stamped off once. You will notice from picture above that I stamped this off the edge of the card, this helps it become less ‘central’, both literally and visually. You don’t want this image to become dominent on this inside of the card, that is the job of the sentiment.
The final finishing touch was to add a Coastal Cabana Glitter Enamel Dot towards the top of the Eiffel Tower. This is a great finishing touch, it really did make me feel that the card was finished. Before adding this, I was not sure. There seemed to be something missing. Do you find that you get to this point on a project? You know that there is SOMETHING missing, it is just a question of finding WHAT is needed.
I would love you to watch the video to see how I put the card together, there are always hints and tips along the way, there is also an explanation about the sizes of the mats, particularly with the North Amercian sizes. These are going to give you a slightly different look to allow for the die cut to fit on the mats.
