ICC A Little Lace. Welcome back to my Blog. Today I am sharing the project I have made for the Inspire.Create.Challenge Design Team. We have a sketch for you today, and it is a really great one that you can either follow exactly, or use as a jumping off point. I have used the A Little Lace stamp set and Rococo Rose to create a soft monotone card. I have added some Vellum to help represent the circle in the sketch. For the line across the sketch I have used just the ‘hello’ from one of the sentiments. The full sentiment is on the inside of the card, as is a small amount of the floral.
There are a few tricks when you want to use Vellum for a stamped image, using our Classic Inks. First, remember that it reacts as a ‘slick’ surface, so when you stamp be careful not to smudge the image. Secondly, because it is a ‘slick’ surface, you will need to leave the image to dry for quite a while. Heating it with your Heat gun helps a little, but just leaving it is the easiest option. Lastly, if you want to adhere the vellum to your card (which is kind of the point!), you need to hide your adhesive, otherwise it will be visible through the vellum. In this case I have added a couple of the Faceted Dots in the centre of the florals, and added a Mini Dimensional behind each of them.
But, first I want to tell you a little more about the card. Having stamped the floral and sentiments on the Whisper White Mat, I ran it through my die cutting and embossing machine, using the Subtle 3D Embossing folder. This slight texture really helps to soften the look of the white card.
