Welcome to The Spot Challenge Group. I am thrilled to announce that I have been invited to join an amazing group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from across the world to bring you a new weekly Project Challenge. We already have lots planned for you, and let me tell you, this is going to be an amazing group to be part of. The Design Team is full of some of the most talented paper crafters you could wish to see. And I mean FULL. I am going to have to bring my ‘A Game’.
Today’s challenge is going to be a little different from all the rest. Today we are each sharing a project to showcase our style. If you know me at all, you will know that I have LOTS of styles, but one that I don’t get to highlight that often is my passion for colouring. I have been colouring for as long as I can remember.
One of my very earliest memories is being ill in bed and having a ‘magic paint book’ from my Grandmother. These were amazing, especially for a young child. All you had to do was use a wet paint brush and the picture would become coloured in front of your eyes. Staying inside the lines was still important if you wanted each of the colours to be seen.
Now I love to sit an colour using our amazing Stampin’ Blends. I could spend hours colouring, but I normally don’t have the time to do so. As luck (good or otherwise) would have it, shortly after being invited to join the Design Team, I came down with a chest infection. Sitting colouring in the Breathtaking Bouquet from the Spring/Summer Mini Catalogue was a great way to help the time pass. It took me about 4 hours, on and off, to finish it. My only problem is that I have no idea exactly which colour I used. I will try to remember for you, but please don’t hold me to them!
So that I could keep the whole image intact, I had to make a unique card size. The card is 4-7/8 x 6″, so the base is 9-3/4 x 6″ scored at 4-7/8″. Full dimensions are further down the post. I will, of course, have to make a custom envelope, but the image is just so stunning I really couldn’t bring myself to cut into it this time.
So what do you think? Was it worth the time I spent on it? I have done another one with darker colours which i may share with you another time. Maybe you could let me know if you would want to. NOW GO AN LOOK AT THE OTHERS. I have added a link to the Challenge Page so that if you click the picture at the top of the post, or HERE you will go straight there. I get to see the other designs ahead of time. Trust me, you need to look at them, they are STUNNING!
